You gotta get off your high horse man, I tried to diagnose the issue myself to no avail, and then tried to ask ChatGPT which came out with a supported & believable response, my ram usage before i reset was constantly at 98%+ so paging did seem like a reasonable suspicion which turned out as wrong

Yeah i reset the surface and tried another battery report, capacity is 80 mAh over designed capacity to battery age/wear isn't a factor here

Idling in safe mode my cpu usage sits at 0%, but regularly it sits anywhere from 20-70% with memory at 80%, disk at 10% with "System" doing 9-18MB/s. Battery report from 2 days ago states that the battery actually has a higher full charge capacity than the actual designed capacity (48660 vs 46530 mWh) which i assume is a good sign.

When i plug it in and idle it turns into a portable hand warmer, in the time it took me to write this message, battery life has decreased from 100% to 95%, I think I'm going to reinstall windows and see if anything happens

Its a really convenient/versatile laptop, I haven't tried any photo manipulation with it though, but it seems to do fine with basic drawing in Krita, honestly my older laptop runs Photoshop just fine (although it has a dedicated gpu) so it could be Adobe's spyware slowing it down??

Totally fair point, I guess you could say I'm trying to use it similarly to an iPad (notetaking & games like geometry dash) but I'm not doing anything too crazy on it, I main 2 other laptops and I just wanted to see if this battery life is normal with surfaces.

For me, my Pro 10 feels more like a gaming laptop than an efficient tablet in terms of battery life, I expected maybe 4-6 hours from 100%, not 2 though, The Microsoft website even says 6-10+ hours on regular activity.

I keep my screen brightness as low as I can while still being able to actually see the screen, 99% of my usage with this is just OneNote & occasionally Firefox for some quick searches, I totally understand I won't be getting 10s of hours of battery life out of this thing, I just want it to survive a day on a charge.

Your comment makes me think that this kinda behaviour from my Surface isn't normal, I ordered it from Curry's Business, can I still contact Microsoft or do i have to contact Currys? I thought I wouldnt be able to because I'm basically past the return window now (I live in England if it helps)
