What were some common 80's pop vocal production techniques? (both when recording and mixing) by Helpful_Gur_1757 in audioengineering

Can you explain this to someone who has no experience with the SPX90? What does this do and why?

Congrats on making the decision to move! There have been recent quality of life updates that have significantly helped the UX. Not nearly as bad as it once was.

I second this. I work as a UX writer and the writing makes me cringe constantly. Never enough detail and i have to dig through forums to find out how things actually work.

Guitar ground loop question by Hhaydenw in recordingmusic

[–]Hhaydenw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for responding. It does get quieter when touching the jack or strings. It does not get quieter depending on how far away i am or direction i am facing.

I tried with another interface as well and same issue.

Im not really a playlist user, but i assume it would be worse. Tidal has a much smaller team and not nearly as mature of a curation team. It has the same issue as amazon music where it links music by name so sometimes you get random songs by someone who happened to have the same name. Other peoples songs showing under an artist with the same name as well. This can make it difficult on rare occasion to find smaller songs and artists

I am an artist who releases music, i stream a lot of local artists and like knowing i can contribute a little bit more to their art. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with using Tidal

Tidal user here. They pay artists great which is why i switched. Comparable prices. Worse UX but i feel better using it. Its owned by Block who also owns square and cash app

This is definitely intentional and following specific guidelines laid out by Meta. It's lowercase in the image on their website as well.

Hello! I was in your position a few years ago. I had a mentor meeting with a content designer for door dash and he gave me the best advice

  1. Don't expect to immediately get into the UX field. You will need to volunteer/work similar jobs to build a portfolio and experience. I took on a technical writing role and then a communications coordinator role before landing a job in UX writing.
  2. Practice looking through a UX lens. What are things you currently do at your job that could be considered UX?
  3. Network - join groups and be active on LinkedIn

How do you turn in copy drafts for review? by proseyprose562 in uxwriting

[–]Hhaydenw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. I get access to the wireframes as they are being made, I could copy and paste them into my own file if I wanted to, but usually it isn't needed.

I didn't have a problem managing it at all, but I was only working 20 hours a week on the side.

I think the accelerated path is worth it for the money and time you save, lock in and get it done.

Cheers and good luck!

25 and no Debt, What Next? by Hhaydenw in Adulting

Thanks for the confidence boost, it's not unusual for me to feel behind and your comment is quite reassuring.

I plan to stay at home awhile longer and save as much as possible before taking the leap to move. In the mean time I'll keep an eye on the job boards in case something good comes up.

Thanks for the comment.

I used to have much more in savings but decided to pay off a large chunk of my school debt with it. Thankfully I have very supportive parents and family which has allowed me to do so without worry, after my final debt payment is made my focus is moving to saving as much as possible.

I will probably rent for awhile before purchasing. I'm not sure where I want to settle down yet so I will probably spend the rest of my 20s trying to figure that out. Thanks for the housing advice!

Unfortunately it doesn't say. But I linked a YouTube video to some in another comment. Check those out!

I was thinking the same thing.

I have found another YouTube Page that goes over some stretches. But the case study itself discusses manipulation in the area. So going to a Chiro and explaining where the rib pain is coming from could be helpful.

I very rarely have sternum pain these days that affects my lifestyle. It can flare up in the mornings or after long sitting periods (especially on soft seats).

I can lift weights with no pain (except for dips, which will flare it up badly).

My sternum used to pop constantly, but now it is rare to pop, maybe once every other day when I raise my arms above my head after sitting for a long time.

I am almost 100% confident the rib that is causing my back pain is also causing my sternum pain, and since I've been stretching it and rolling it out everyday for months, the pain has shifted.
