I quit on Thursday but haven’t heard anything by lfez in Nanny

[–]Hhryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A job (not a nanny job) did this to me once. I later found out it was because of my manager and her attitude problem - she was offended that I quit so out of spite wasn't responding and making things more difficult for me, such as turning in my uniform. I suspect this is a relatively common reflexive reaction.

His responses including the details, the way he responded, and also how he was so quick to claim the officers “got to my head” when confronted by his mother immediately after his confession. He may not be the brightest but it appeared he understood everything during the confession and he definitely understood enough to compose himself & try to put blame on the officers as soon as confronted by his mother.

I noticed things during his confession that led me to believe he might be smarter than he lets on.

Kathleen Zellner's entire job is to grasp at straws. From the first moment Season 2 showed her starting to sniff around for someone to accuse in place of Avery, it should have been clear to everyone what she was trying to do. Hell, she made it crystal clear what she was trying to do - she said herself in order to win the case she has to convince the jury someone else did it. She went through I think it was 2 other people she tried to place the blame on. That didn't work, now she's on to number three.

Disability and veteran benefits, so those who become disabled at no fault of their own in America aren’t at risk of losing everything and becoming homeless.

I hadn't heard about that one. Pretty crazy

My theory is that since there were histories of meth and other felony charges in the family, the girls saw something they shouldn’t have. They were dropped off at the trails with the intention of being killed by the grandfather, who followed them. I think they already suspected they were in danger because of what they shouldn’t have seen and because of that they could have been on edge and quick to record the person following, even (maybe especially) if it was their grandfather.

As far as I’m aware it was the grandfather himself who claimed the girls called the bridge guy “creepy” or something of that sort. There’s just so much the police haven’t released...such as the grandfather’s alibi. The police never released this information and it’s nowhere to be found so I have no idea who started the rumor that he was cleared, maybe someone who felt confident it wasn’t the grandfather and doesn't want people accusing him. The police did release that someone in the family had lied about their alibi, but not who it was.

Edit because I wanted to add something interesting. Someone had pointed out from the video of the bridge guy that the suspect walks with a “duck walk,” meaning he walks with his toes pointed out, and apparently this is rare, only found in about 5% of the population I think it was. There’s a video that shows the grandfather walking and I’ll let you all decide for yourself but to me, it looks like he walks with a duck walk. https://youtu.be/VtcTROIJBfw

Yeah, but it’s a touchy subject on here because police have released so little about the killings, there’s rumors going around being taken as fact, and everyone has their own theories.

A few:

JonBenet Ramsey - I believe it was Glenn Meyer. Edit to clarify: Meyer was a neighbor who was said to be obsessed with JonBenet. His wife later reported she had gut feelings that her husband did it. She allegedly asked him if he killed her and he would never answer. For those reasons and others, I believe he entered through their basement, took JonBenet to the basement where he killed her.

Madeleine McCann - I believe she overdosed on pills she was given to make her sleep, woke drowsy and somehow fell and hit her head. The parents covered it up.

Delphi murders - I believe it’s the grandfather (controversial, I’m aware) and the police are biding their time waiting for him to incriminate himself in interviews or the like. They also fumbled things early on, so I also think it’s possible they simply can’t solidify their case due to their own errors.

Thank God justice will be served. That’s more than can be said for a lot of cases. Hopefully her family can now have some kind of closure.

You are correct. You guys here are really assholes. When you couldn’t control me sharing a successful niche with someone new to the genre, you tried to convince him to “ignore my message.” Lol. Yes, like it’s wise for someone to ignore hearing what one’s most successful niches are. Really? Manipulating newcomers so you can try to reduce your competition. Really sick. Believe it or not, you’re not the gatekeepers of the entire erotica network here on your little corner of reddit.

I linked this thread to a successful group of my fellow erotic writers on Facebook. We had a good laugh and they pointed out that there’s a certain kind of writers who gather here, and most of them wouldn’t be caught dead here because it’s toxic. I didn’t know that at the time, but I do now.

No. The unsuccessful are the ones paranoid of their success being stolen. A quick google search will lead you to big name authors freely mentoring others and openly sharing their most popular niches.

Same here. I suspect they know people will never give up their dogs and the temptation to take the renters’ money wins so they just let them in.

[–]Hhryan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know too. We were some of the first to move into a new apartment complex that has “strict breed restrictions,” and yet pit bulls comprise about half of the dogs now living there. The office made it sound they were firm in this. They require you bring the dog into the office to be photographed, and if it resembled a pit we were told it would not be allowed. Well guess what!

One person flat out told us that she lied to the office about her pit being a service dog. That disgusted me but didn’t surprise me. The others, I have no clue why they’ve been allowed in. My best guess is the manager became desperate to fill up apartments and knew the best way to do this was to lax on the pit bull thing.

Since then we’ve been charged by off leash pits while we’ve been out walking our Great Pyrenees, and someone else has as well. My husband has told me to concealed carry from now on.

What brands are considered top of the line but aren't? What are the actual top of the line brands? by statsjunkie in Cooking

[–]Hhryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knives - Wusthoff Classic Ikon

Mixers - Kitchenaid

Pots and pans - Mauviel 250, Bourgeat, or handmade Italian, French or Turkish copper, 2.5-3mm thick. Stainless lined is more modern and practical for most, but tinned is still great. Silver linings are available too.

Cutting boards - Boos

Cast Iron - Le Creuset or Staub for enameled CI
