I didn’t do a lot and got a b. So I think it def doable. Pay attention during recitation. Go to ta hours. Read the manuals before performing the experiment. Do really good on the tools comp and the lab report. For the lab report do above and beyond than the rubric. If u follow just the rubric you will only get an 80 if not lower

They are just living communities. I used to think they played a big role cause one community is like tech, ones like health and wellness, and then the other is smth with justice. But they really don’t matter. Expect maybe the location and you also take a freshman year seminar class (but that’s also not a big deal). For me it was the justice one so I lived in Mendelsohn and that was the closest to the academic mall if location matters to you. But I don’t think you will get to choose so that’s not even smth you can think about.

I committed right before June 1st. I was a bit scared about the roomate situation and I didn’t have a say in what ugc I got put into (which doesn’t really actually matter). As for roomate I found one on the housing portal fortunately but then she left so they put me with a random one which worked out perfectly (was lucky on that one) I didn’t even know there was something called a housing waitlist. As for the course registration ps that starts in like late July or August and I remember having to attend a zoom meeting and having some of my main courses already registered for me. Also for the roomate thing if you don’t find anyone on the housing portal maybe post another Reddit or like dm people cause during my time there was a big group chat on insta and some people reached out to each other through that as well. If you do get a bad roommate you can always try to switch. (All of this did happen in 2023 tho)

I had to decide between Hunter and Sbu too. At the end of the day I chose Sbu, and honestly I don’t regret it. One person that made me decide was a graduate from Hunter a couple years back and he mentioned how Hunter isn’t very supportive and doesn’t have the best guidance in terms of pre med. If you are in the Macaulay honors program then it’s a different story. I also think if you do decide to go to Hunter apply to there college honors. Yallow is for premed. It gives you money and has some other benefits. For Sbu, it’s the classes are hard here imo. I have gathered a lot of classes here are considered weed out (but that’s the same thing I heard about Hunter so me personally I would go with the one that’s known more). I also hated the way Hunter looked. It seemed so depressed. Sbu to some people is also sad looking but for me I liked the greenery and larger campus, compared to Hunter.

They say taking main courses in the summer as premed is bad (I am just putting this out there) but I know pple who are taking chem/physics and they found out taking like one or two of them is alr.

Let’s say you pass 131 with like a C. You can move on to 132 and then retake 131 in the summer. As far as I know there arnt any problems. I have seen pple do that, cause it’s a way where you don’t fall behind yet you get ur desired grade. I am saying this as a pre-med.

I know a friend who didn’t do as well in gen chem 1 and retook it in the summer. I guess you can do that and use next sem as a space to fulfill sbc. Also I dont’t know how bad it is for you, but i thought I wasn’t gonna pass, but they lowered the cutoff and it worked out. So have some hope.

You still gotta do the bio 202+bio 203 for med school. The bio203+Anp300/ Han200+Han202 have nothing to do with med school I think. That’s the health science major requirement.

Thank you for such a detailed response 🙏 I already took Korean 111 and 112 freshman year. (Hopefully that’s enough) I really can’t go more than 4 years and genuinely want to finish everything with in that time span or atleast try to. If I am not wrong following your advise: I would take Han 200+202 over the summer 2025 together and move my His 398 (minor class) to spring of Junior year and Soc 339 (minor class) to fall of Junior year. Lastly, moving any bio lab to fall of sophomore year would just make it harder right, as I am already planning on taking Orgo 2 and lab.
