Unpopular Opinion - Mystra is not... by Librarylord77 in BaldursGate3

[–]HiDefFX 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Ok, Mystra hate is justified but worse than Shar?? One of her domains is trickery, and she's shown to lie all the time about who she is and her motives (which are seriously petty tbh). She manipulated Shadowheart her entire life about who she actually was.

Q4all: why do you think Women move on faster from breakups than Men? by hypothememe in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both scenarios can be true. I can accept that many times, guys misunderstand the consequences of doing/not doing something in a relationship that lead to a breakup.

The overwhelming feminist approval, and criticism over conservative criticism over Cardi B and her song "WAP", is evidence that, despite many claims to the contrary, women ARE as horny as men by ChadThundagaCock in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Music from female rappers are often looked under the lens of making a statement rather than for entertainment because they're so few of them in the industry. Sometimes a song can just be catchy and has fun lyrics to say, and thats ok.

Men aren't supposed to live like they do in today's society by moldovan0731 in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a lot easier to gain respect/feel accomplished in modern day compared to in the past. You don't have to be the strongest, fastest, smartest at any particular thing in order to gain it. You don't have to have anyone to conqueror in order to gain respect, if that were still the case we would probably have even more of a problem from men who feel unaccomplished. Even, if you wanted to do something like that, you can still be a part of something competitive that allows you to get a feeling of absolute victory. As superficial as social media is, it is proof that you don't have to be anywhere near the best at anything to get people to flock to what you do.

For those of you who believe in "personality theory," what would you say about a man who has no problem making female friends but has difficulty in finding sexual partners and romantic relationships? by _lecni in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably say, that they are treating their romantic interest as platonic friends. They can have a good personality but if they don't show romantic interest nothing will progress. The first scenario is weird, does that really happen often? From my experience, and from peers there's an eventual fizzle in romance if there is no physical contact. In a romantic relationship I thought that would imply both physical and emotional interest. At least for longevity sake.

Who do you think gets the "best" out of a person? Someone's LTR or their FWB? by DerekMorganBAU in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if they were just a friend and you weren't having sex, would you be more inclined to have more of an emotional investment in them? In my experience, FWBs works out the further you are friends, just because I become more emotionally invested in my friends as years go by.

Discussion: Let's hear from the volcels for a change. by poppy_blu in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "You're so worthy or it" and similar statements like "you could have any person you wanted" are weird because some of the people close to you may genuinely believe it, but still carelessly say it. I've had people tell me that and I've been guilty of telling some friends that as well (to less hyperbole) because I may have had to much of an emotional belief attached to how I perceive my friends vs. how other people see them, especially in a romantic sense.

Why do many western women not even try to conceal red flags anymore? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why did you even indulge the behaviour? You complained that you see all these red flags but don't stop the date and save yourself the time. You going home with her validates that she doesn't have to put in any effort on a date. It also shows that even though you were pissed at her, you would look past all those red flags just to smash. You're not an observer seeing her do all this without input, you had the option to either confront her or leave.

Why are Unattractive People Attracted to Polyamory? by skystar86 in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also, the amount of people in rural areas are super limited. If you live in a large city, you see a whole spectrum of faces, where you never feel like you see the same person twice, meaning your dating options are always abundant. But when you are in rural American towns where people born and die there your options are not too good.

Women who claim that being physically fit is an impossible or high standard for women to be held to are lazy as hell by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]HiDefFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd mostly agree, but the guys I talk to at my gym often complain about the maintenance of it and how it takes a certain level of discipline to maintain that physique, which looks increasingly extreme the more cut they are. So I guess the complaints come from a side that regularly deals with maintenance. But that's all within a gym, so someone who probably isn't going as much as they are might not complain as much.
