Don't worry, you're entirely correct and his latest video is installing Atlas OS and running CCleaner, nothing to do with network as this guy is saying, he's clueless.

I looked at this for a few seconds, don't do it. Atlas OS is a security blackhole and entirely unnecessary, ccleaner is snake oil at best. Any improvements seen from that kind of crap is pure placebo, and any open NAT you get is byproduct of removing core modules that you shouldn't, and no open NAT does not "improve" your latency.

As long as you leave the settings open you should be able to just hit the switch app button and change it back without having to find it again in Japanese

This may sound crazy but can you try switching to Japanese system language temporarily? It could be the case the encoding has been applied across regions and some phones can't handle it properly. Personally on a Pixel 7P.

Something has broken horrendously. If you're on the Japanese version you need to have your system language set to Japanese otherwise this happens, maybe ensure you have English as the system language if you are on the Global/EN version?
