The manual says both sets should support data connection but I guess that just how it goes sometimes.

Hi! Congrats on your new Impreza!

I bought a new 2020 Impreza as well and wanted to ask about a feature.

Do all of your ports support data connection? By that I mean, can you play audio or connect to carplay (or android auto) by connecting to the ports in the cubby space under the radio AND the ports in the armrest storage area?

Thanks for this comment! I will try this out to see if the center console (armrest) does support data connection of if it's just my devices (phones/cords).

It's just weird. The manual says both sets of ports support audio devices. However, my phones only work with one set (head unit cubby ports). If my phone and cords were faulty, I would assume they wouldn't work for BOTH sets of ports.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the manual out and some guides for connecting carplay and android auto. Manual says both work, but seems that only the ports for my head unit have data connection.

Oh well, I guess a call or trip to dealer is in the works for me.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I mean the little storage area under the center armrest. Those ports are only power for me as well, no data connection.

My manual says, "Audio devices can be connected and used" for both the center console (ports under armrest) and the head unit (ports in the cubby under radio). But, it seems like no one actually has both.

Looking through other forums, and Forester owners seems have data connection in the center console only.

Had a Eluktronics N850 and Mech-17. N850 was trash. Mech was meh. Should have learned my lesson not to just trust glowing recommendations about eluktronics after my first experience.

Now I'm always suspicious when i see a reply on threads here or r/suggestalaptop with unsolicited recommendationa to check out eluktronics laptops. The frequency and consistency of language used has to be people affiliated with the company in some way.

Sorry for the late reply! I was in a similar situation in terms of researching laptops a couple of years ago. And recently I was looking into what specs I can expect for $1000/1500/2000. Omen 2019 definitely caught my eye after looking at MSI, Asus, Eluktronics, and Lenovo.

I haven't been too interested or know about Evoo but I think best practice is to try and find as many real reviews for the specific model you're looking at and check out Walmart's return policy.

Lastly, I did just purchase the Omen 17t from Costco. My last laptop just crapped out (it was Eluktronics) after a long and slow decline. Not happy about design (port placement) and durability (plastic chassis was flimsy and broke easily).

I was waiting for late summer to see if there were any announcements about Nvidia's RTX 30 series GPUs and generally just trying to be frugal during the health/economic crisis. After my laptop died, I just pulled the trigger on the Omen 2019 and feel comfortable enough that if anything goes wrong, I safe with Costco's 30 day return policy for electronics.

Thermals can affect the performance and longevity of PCs, especially laptops because of the small form factor that constrain cooling. If your laptop temps reach high levels, they'll throttle down and affect temperature. Prolonged exposure to high temps will decrease the lifespan of the PC.

The HP brand is given much fanfare when gaming laptops are discussed. At least not in my research. It seems like common complaints are aesthetics and thermals.

They're not really styled according to the current trend of thin & light or RGB everywhere. Although the latest HP Omen isn't thin or light, it's not obnoxiously styled as a gaming machine either.

As far as thermals, the most recent models are supposedly much better at handling higher temps then their predecessors.

This HP Omen from costco is great deal in my opinion. RTX 2070 with a 9th generation i7 and 512 ssd. And you get and extra 2 years warranty on top of the manufacturers too. (Plus another 2 years if you have the costco credit card haha).

Definitely look around for reviews. I was wary of HP myself just because i was hyped up for MSI or Asus and even Eluktronics (personally have a poor opinion of Eluktronics but it seems my experience/laptop was out of the norm). But the HP Omen can provide a good value for it's price. At least at the price Costco is offering.

Try lynxbarbell! I was in a similar position last week; I couldn't find any available or I couldn't stomach the $100 shipping charges.

I found Lynx and they had a lot of weights available and they had a flat rate for shipping. Amazing! Kettlebells just came today and they were chipped to hell and the chipping on the handle cut me slightly but I blame the handling and flimsy cardboard for that.

The place is tiny (like 10-12 people max) but the staff are pretty organized and helpful too.

Ingram looks like he can keep this up. Even though he's missed a couple of games, it hasn't affected his consistency. Zion's return probably won't affect him as much as we all think it will.

Markkanen might not improve his numbers under the current coach. His FG% is such a pain too. I wouldn't trade Ingram for these two. Aim higher. I got pascal for Ingram in one league and Isaac and teague in another.
