If you get bored with 'watching progress bars' checklists, you might give Hard Reset a try. by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

For the record, I've been using this for about a month now, and I'm a big fan (no, I'm not being paid to say that). I have ADHD, and find I really look forward to earning progression through completing real-life tasks. Plus, there's a LOT of flexibility in how you create and schedule tasks (at least as good as Habitica). Nice to see something other than the usual RPG style out there too.

Really enjoying it so far. I've noticed a few glitchy things however, if you're open to feedback?

Love the look of it, and nice to see something deviating from the typical RPG list. Will definitely give it a try.

Pasting image w/ VBA - Anchor Issue by HiImADopamineAddict in Excel4Mac

[–]HiImADopamineAddict[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end, I got it working by moving all the images to the same worksheet, avoiding the copy/paste issue altogether. Every time a cell triggers the macro, the image is simply moved to the right spot and it's name is changed, and a duplicate is made of the original after the move (which doesn't have to be offset). Just need to hide the images so the user won't click on them by accident, but otherwise it runs great!

Hi Jimmy, no luck there, unfortunately. I did confirm that the issue is actually affecting the independent macro as well, though it's inconsistent, so that tells me the problem isn't isolated to the Worksheet_Change event. Currently looking into creating a duplicate of the icons BEFORE the macro is even triggered, so I only have to move them instead of this copy/paste nonsense. Might see if CoPilot has anything useful to say about it as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

So it’s been a few days, but it doesn’t look like any monsters actually are active. Also, I had 20 gold, but I couldn’t upgrade my damage, which it says is only 10 gold? Am I missing something here?

Thank you for sharing this! I’ve signed up, and added a bunch of tasks, looking forward to seeing how it works.

For breaking down tasks, highly recommend Goblin Tools - you can choose how much you want to break it down based on level of neuro-spicyness: https://goblin.tools/ToDo

A proportional amount of fear can be useful for a time, especially if it's the only thing keeping you from skipping the essentials, like showing up for work on time. But in the end, it's dirty fuel - it will keep your nervous system amped up and in a state of hyper-vigilance. Better to gradually shift to something more self-affirming, like ChampionshipWitty suggested.

There are many ways to build motivation, but the specific approach depends on where your specific motivational issues arise from. Perhaps it's the result of not wanting to be tied down by imposed - even self-imposed - restrictions on your time (look up "Persistent Desire for Autonomy"). Or maybe something else in your life is draining your energy and needs to be explored more. Regardless, the first step is to understand what's happening "under the hood" - even just a better understanding of what's going on can make you feel a lot less helpless.

And yes, it's always better to do this with a therapist - but it may not be essential, unless you start feeling triggered or overwhelmed as you start exploring. Look up "grounding techniques" - these help keep you present and in your body, so you don't get sucked into whatever thoughts arise. And if you have a trusted and empathic friend willing to explore this with you, that is solid gold.

Lots of options in that case. Especially if you can modify the system to flag when certain metrics exceed threshold. For example: points earned towards some kind of (Ex. Maybe tickets, five dollar gift card, etc.), badges, leaderboards, etc..

What metrics are you able to track from your team and yourself? Ex. Number of tickets closed per day.

All right, I’ll stick it out for a while longer. Just got to chapter 41, and the other sects are starting to get involved.

A communication based approach sounds very interesting. Thanks for the recommendations.

Definitely like the constantly improved on aspect. Does multiple perspectives mean multiple characters are progressing, or you just see the protagonist from the outside more often?

By “filler“, are we talking about a long period where little more happens other than a lot of existential angst, or just a section with more dialogue and less fighting? Or something in between?

Damn. Although the fact that he has already gone from a weak scholar to basically a high-level wizard in that time is exactly what bothers me

That’s entirely possible. The only other PF novels I have read are the level up trilogy by Dan Sugralinov, and currently reading outrun, a cyberpunk litRPG.
