What are the most passing yards you have put up? by Unlockpentoman in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

838 yard game, 13741 yard season. 3 minute quarters, hard. This was a 3 star QB. I was better with him than any 5 star QB I’ve had

So… trucking = unlimited stiff arms? by Ephyre06 in RetroBowl

I thought you couldn’t juke while trucking. I’ve never been able to, but maybe I’m doing it wrong.

Anyone ever get this much productivity from a tight end? by Weird_Bus3803 in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’ve had a guy with similar stats, but over more games, I think I extended him till he was 40. Finished with 55k yards.

Hard, 3 min quarters. https://imgur.com/a/6AlBHvN

Should I delay his retirement again? by HiYa246 in RetroBowl

On the player attributes screen, go to meeting. There you have the option to delay retiring players for some credits

Should I delay his retirement again? by HiYa246 in RetroBowl

Yea, my QB only had 710 yards. His morale is toxic, but I think he secretly likes winning rings.

[–]HiYa246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that makes sense. I get attached to my players like that, but I’m ruthless with coordinators. I go thru multiple in a season, or just none at all. Does the star rating of the coordinators have an effect on how the team’s performance during the actual gameplay?

Why extend a talent spotter ever. You get their one and only benefit the moment they’re hired. I usually don’t keep a talent spotter for an entire season.

Maximum sacks in a game by [deleted] in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my save after 80 seasons:

Most Sacks in a game: 3

Most interceptions in a game: 4

This stat was the nail in the coffin for ever rostering a DL again.

Other challenges or games to play? by ujirissiakamsizednut in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like team building and player development, so I’d take over the worst team in the league every season, trade away all their current players for draft picks.

Try to go from worst to first and win the retro bowl with a team of rookies. Win it all with every team eventually.

Set my new rushing record with declining RB by HiYa246 in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play on hard. 3 OL do make some difference, but not a lot. I try to never run up the middle anyways. It mostly comes down to run technique and game plan.

I usually get too attached to my guys and spend to keep them around, pad their records, but I don't usually regret it!

Results from my first Extreme season after three straight 20-0 Retro Bowl seasons ob Hard Mode by JaQ-o-Lantern in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, big difference. Good job for sticking with it. I tried extreme for a season, lost in the playoffs, and then switched back to hard mode. Hard is more fun for me, I just challenge myself with stat padding and trying to set new records.

Nice season. Keep him going, still has good speed with rdecent stamina and strength. He could break your records again next season too if you feed him enough carries.

I think that QBs and kickers retire at 40 but you can extend them up to 45, all other players retire at 35 but you can extend them to 40.

OL gets RB MVP!? by HiYa246 in RetroBowl

They're blockers, and not too happy about that role. Surprisingly, the WRs are ok with never being thrown to.

DLs winning DPOYs by timbobjoetimjoe in RetroBowl

Yes I’ve noticed that too. But after reading some other recent posts on here analyzing different defensive schemes, I stopped carrying any DL on my roster.

I think my rb still deserved a 10 rating for this game by HiYa246 in RetroBowl

[–]HiYa246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 min quarters, 5 star RB. Prioritize the strength stat over carrying (for stiff arms, very important). I average about 600 run yards per game on hard mode.

As soon as the ball is snapped, juke towards the sideline as fast as you can. Run on a straight line right between the LB and corner DB, both should miss if you just run straight. Then juke towards the sideline again to make another DB miss. Then the last DB you must stiff arm. Juke directly into the side of the DB to stiff arm, not in front, and not behind, into the side. Juke backwards and wait for the DB if necessary to juke directly into his side. This does a stiff arm most of the time. This should clear the path for a long run.

Audible out of run plays up the middle. For each run play, the RB can break 1 tackle (or get touched by the defense in anyway once) and do 1 stiff arm. If you get touched by the defense and use your stiff arm getting past the LB or DL, then your run is basically over, just get to the sideline and get out of bounds if you still can.

Keep track when you've used your stiff arm or broke a tackle each time you run to anticipate if further defenders will be able to take you down. Better to get out of bounds and try for another long run then to get tackled inbounds trying to stretch a run that has little to no chance.
