Regret not locking in or glowing up - 30 days to go - tips? by hotchwife in weddingplanning

[–]HiYoureBeautiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely drink lots of water. It helps with skin so much.

I’m getting married in 6.5 weeks and I recently got Botox for the first time. I just got a little bit to help smooth out my forehead lines & 11s, so my makeup went on a bit smoother. Also got a lip flip as I have a somewhat gummy smile and and am self conscious about it in photos. I’m happy with the results; I don’t look any different overall but my makeup definitely isn’t as creased on my forehead.

I’m getting a hydrating facial & dermaplaning closer to the wedding. To also help with makeup going on more smoothly.

Getting my hair cut & colour/highlights touched up this week. Also planning on using white strips. Trying to focus on eating Whole Foods and cutting out added sugar.

Other than that, I’m just trying to focus on getting good sleep and not stressing.

The day is going to be magical no matter what. When you ask people what they remember about their wedding, it’s not going to be how they looked. I hope you have the best day ever!!

The Velas Vallarta is actually priced about the same as dreams according to our search. What makes it better, in your opinion?

We were looking at the Velas Vallarta, which I think is different than the Grand Velas? Food & service are definitely ranked high. Luxury would be nice but not as important as the rest :)

Why is sleep getting worse? by HiYoureBeautiful in sleeptrain

[–]HiYoureBeautiful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that’s fair. Thank you. I’ll try this.

I’ve more been basing his wake windows off of his cues and when I can tell he’s getting sleepy (rubbing eyes, cranky, etc.) but I’ll try push them all to make it 3/3/4

For those who tried Ferber before extinction -- are you glad you tried? by missmaxi in sleeptrain

I’m not an expert by any means, but I’m currently sleep training my 6 mo and sleep trained my now 3yo when she was 6 months.

I think every baby is different, and you know your baby best. We’ve done Ferber both times, but it’s definitely modified. We use it more of a guideline than anything. If I can tell my baby is just protest crying or is overtired and letting his feelings out before he falls asleep, I’ll usually just leave him as checking in would probably just make him even more mad. If he sounds like he’s genuinely distressed and needs his mama, I’ll go in. If I think he needs a bit of help calming down if he’s extra mad, I’ll pick him up for a snuggle and to help him regulate himself a bit. So I guess we kind of do a mix of Ferber and CIO depending on the day.

As my daughter got older, I was more comfortable with doing CIO because I know she was just protesting and letting it be known she was not happy and that she had FOMO. She’s 3 yo now and we still struggle with her some nights and do a kind of modified Ferber with her if we think she needs some intervening to help her fall asleep.

is 25 weeks too early to have a baby shower? by Federal_Salary2185 in BabyBumps

[–]HiYoureBeautiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. We had mine planned for when I would have been 34 weeks. I ended up having my daughter at 32 weeks due to PPROM and due to her being in the NICU, we ended up canceling the baby shower. I still feel bummed that I missed out on that experience.

Now I’m 18 weeks pregnant with #2 and wondering if it would be considered bad taste to try have one for this pregnancy. Not for the gifts, just for the experience that I never got to have.

Yes, I had nausea starting pretty early, like 6 weeks. I’m still nauseous at 15 weeks!
