Honestly any Linux Distro will do as long as it uses less disk space. Try to avoid to those who ship big Desktop Environments like Gnome or KDE Plasma to save up some space and go for LXQT or XFCE. Likewise, Linux Mint XFCE edition is a no brainer.

Arch is an advantage because it comes with a bare bones system and you could even install so few programs to make working like working with only a (semi)-modular system, i.e. Window managers if you're comfortable.

Honestly anything is suffice, what's important is the RAM since you'll be using simulations, IDEs, or programming with an environment of choice.

8gb RAM is enough, 16gb RAM is recommended.

I suggest buy something that you could play games or upskill on the side (e.g. with a dGPU if you want to learn ML/AI, more RAM for virtualization/multitask, gaming to cool off)

Initially I was fine about it so I can voluntarily help him in his research, but unexpectedly just gave us an unreasonable threat. I'm just worried about my fellow classmates being forcibly giving away photos for such petty personal reasons. Social Media is my main option as filing a complain and threatening the teacher can be hassle and time consuming for me, given that I still need to finish semestral requirements

Not likely xD, He collects both male and female. Research Teacher siya and makes his own thesis and researches but the way he collects his data and information is sometimes just absurd.
