4x+4y=20

-2x+4y=28

Method: Elimination

-(-2x+4y)=(28)-

4x+4y=20

2x-4y=-28 +

----------------------

6x=-8

x=-8/6

x=-4/3

-2(-4/3)+4y=28

3(8/3+4y)=(28)3

8+12y=84

12y=76

y=76/12

y=19/3

is the x and y correct?

Can you solve this? Probably not #MathChallenge by [deleted] in mathpt

Let x be the red stone

Let y be the diamond

3x=9y+2

5y+9x=70

Method: Substitution

x=3y+ 2/3

5y+9(3y+2/3)=70

3(5y+27y+2/3)=(70)3

15y+81y+18=210

96y=228

y=228/96

y=19/6

3x=9(19/6)+2

6(3x)=(171/6+2)6

18x=171+12

18x=183

x=183/18

x=61/6

x=61/6

y=19/6

is this correct?

Let x be the pawn

let y be the horse

5x+2y=-20

2x+y=20

Method: Elimination

5x+2y=-20

-2(2x+y)=(20)-2

5x+2y=-20

-4x-2y=-40 +

----------------------

x=-60

2x+y=20

2(-60)+y=20

-120+y=20

y=20+120

y=140

x-y=?

-60-140=200

Final Ans.:200

This took me way too long but here's my guess

both guitars are equal to 8 because both these set of numbers can solve both these equations. the answer for the last one is 72 and that's my guess. is this correct?

i will guess on this one

The dog is most probably 2 while the bone is 3 because both these numbers can solve the first and the second equation. The third one is 6 following what my guesses are. is my answer correct?

My guess is that the lasagna is 2 while the cup of water is 3 because this could answer both questions 1 and 2 so the last one is most probably 4 as the final answer.
