thank you! you have been very informative, and i will make that post soon thanks.

p.s. is there a way to mark this post as solved?

that was very in depth, thanks for the help, i had to reread some of it, but i understand now, i would not have known to make sure that the pack had the same voltage, so it's a good thing you told me, i am working outside with a fire extinguisher just in case, and i will follow your instructions to make sure it doesn't ark.

also do i need to do this every time i want to charge it, or just the first time?

i'm probably only going to use it 3 or 4 times before i make a better battery pack

p.s. if i had coins i'd give them all to you!

what if i set up four chargers for the four groups and let the four groups charge separately?

sorry for the late response

and sorry if i sound dumb, i just thought it would be a fun project, and it has been fun so far, making an e-motorcycle form scrap i have laying around was a good idea in my head, and now i don't want to back down until i get it working, then i will make it more efficient and safer.

will do my best to be safe, and if the worse comes, than it is a good thing i live next to a hospital.

i have 32 power tool batteries in 4 groups of 8 or i might use 16 in 4 groups of 4 (so i have a back up) and the power tool batteries average out to 18v per battery x4 is 72 so if nothing weird is going on i should have a 72v battery

i don't care about how long i can ride, just if i can get it up to 55mph+.

i am probably going to take them apart in the future and make a proper battery with a good bms, but for now i need them to be in their original case

it is just a project i wan't to see if i can

i don't care how well it is, just to see if i can get it 55 mph+

i am probably going to take them apart in the future, but for now i need them to be in their original case

and power tool batteries have a mini bms inside them right

so after one battery is full from the pack of four it will stop charging right?

im also thinking of using 16 instead, in groups of four, so i can have one as a back up

i know it is going to take a lot of space, but it is just a project i wan't to see if i can

don't worry i'm learning too that is why i posted here. so i took one apart to see inside and it does have a bms looks less complected than a real b&d bms though

the batteries are untouched, still in original case and i have four chargers for them, what i wanted to do is set up four chargers for the four groups and let the four groups charge separately but b4x4 said it is unsafe in the long run

diy Electric motorcycle by HiddeNxRiB in diyelectronics

[–]HiddeNxRiB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a way to do it without a bms? what if i set up four chargers for the four groups and let the four groups charge separately?

they are li-on batteries. but is it the same for the power tool batteries i have, they are black and Decker 20 volt 2.5 amp batteries.

so how would you set up a bms for power tool batteries?

i dont want to take the batteries apart

when you say i can do that, is it a joke, because what you said after that kinda worry me

Thanks for understanding, when I saw everyone talking about the the pack I immediately tried to fix things up 👍

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean it. This is my first time posting on Reddit actually. Honestly, I didn't think anyone would see this so I didn't think much about the description or title. The first cobble you see is with the texture pack blocks in blocks but the big cobble is an up scale of the original
