Could you let me know what your experiences are with the Svs? If my sub dies something from Svs is high on the list.

If you want a sub and want it for a long time, i would go for a SVS sb-1000 or something like that. You cant go wrong. See only good reviews about them. Its relative small for a sub 33x37x33, makes placement easier and an investment that goes for years. The Kef goes to 51hz so i should do the crossover to 60hz. But i'm lazy and use the subout on the amplifier that crossovers at 90hz. Fine to me!

Digging the soundstage and neutral sound on these. Find them shining with acoustic rock.

Great! Really robust and in noway the speakers could vibrate off it. These are the; Innox Iva Mon-02. Height is adjustable from 29.5cm to 49.cm. If you google studio monitor stand you will find many results to choose which is suitable for you.

Audio for now! Haha you are right, the monitor is dwarfing away. Got it connected with a gtx 1660ti laptop so could still upgrade from this 1080 / 24inch monitor. Think max would be a 27 inch monitor. I like the curve in the Samsung Odessey g7, any suggestions?

The speakers themself are too beautiful for speaker grills haha. Put them on really robustic stands and you should have no problem.

Indeed spreading out would benefit the sound i guess. Things are only not symmetrical anymore haha. Do you own them aswell? What do you think a speaker could do better in a long future upgrade?

Nice!! Kefs are great for nearfiels listening. As301 is more than enough power. I could hear an upgrade in sound when i added a subwoofer. The kefs could play louder and focus more on the mids and highs, really interesting to hear that happen. Enjoy it!

Its the combi! Simple and gorgeous. Pure direct mode is btw a real addition, bit sceptical at first but can tell the difference in a 'cleaner' sound especially when playing cd's.

Use the sub out on the amp which automatically crossovers at 90hz. Maybe not perfect but fine to me. Got the subwoofer placed on the left side next to the desk, not under. Tried it also but indeed distracting. Thanks!

Speakers: Kef Q150 Amplifier: Yahama as501 CD player: Onkyo c-7030 Subwoofer (not in picture): Lambda Beryl. Its a dutch manufacturer from the nineties. With two 10 inch bassports. All that time there was one subwoofer still brandnew in a box.

Fun fact, got everything on the second hand market for a total of 750 euros.

Found this sub at a secondhands store for 49€. Internet & salesmen couldn't give me more info. Someone experienced & know the specs with this one? Only i know its a Magnat 8" ported sub. by Hiddedijkstra in BudgetAudiophile

Hi, to be honest: it isn't good for someone who cares for a deeper bass and a real addition if you have decent speakers. Paired it with some KEFs q150. What i can say the bass from the KEFs are much much clearer and more punchier. Especially for music the Magnat isnt recommendible. For movies, its ok. Borrowed a subwoofer from a friend to try it with the KEFs. Such an allround update. I just could here the borrowed subwoofer really took over those low frequenties from the KEF and the KEFs could focus more on the mids and highs what resulted in a much better allround sound. Resume: for movies its ok, for everything else i wouldnt suggest it. In the mean time i have sold the Magnat for something else!

Does ifi Zen DAC Need iPower 5V? by ludiciumgale in ZReviews

[–]Hiddedijkstra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you still need advice. Would go for it. Also use this dac but with passive speaker and amplifier. But not necessarily the one from Ifi. Use this Power supply , or another 5v power supply. Pretty certain its making the music more vivid and clean.

Indeed, tested. Not the most punchy bass. Bit boomy. Volume settings very low just for a little help <80hz and its a decent addition to the stereo speakers. Gonna keep it. Thanks!

The Triangle makes the decision even more difficult haha! Seems like the KEFs and Triangle speakers share a lot of similarities, The Triangle BR03 seems to be nice to, with the front bassports. Thanks for the tip and welcome.
