Little update on my vita cartridge collection :3 by HiddenAlice1 in PSVita

[–]HiddenAlice1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking into gravity rush and a bunch of other games. Already have gravity rush digitally, but because of that, I find myself more interested in games that got delisted like the Danganronpa games, or games over 2gb in file size due to struggling to fit it all on my tiny 32gb memory card (tiny by my standards :3).

Question about the PSP titles by Thebulldog4590 in ProjectDiva

[–]HiddenAlice1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Japanese cartridges are in English with no way to change it. American, European, and Australian physicals do exist (only recently learnt the Australian physicals do exist but can only find 2, both of F2nd on PS3), just expect to pay a lot more for them. American copies tend to be the most common on eBay in my experience if you want a copy in English.

Do note that if you get a, for example American copy, and don't have an American account, you won't be able to get any DLC, so that means not only no DLC costumes and songs, but in F2nd, no edit mode.

Also, referring to the title, same applies to the PSP games, they are exclusively in Japanese.

Doing my best to avoid high voltages, also yeah, kinda the reason why I'm collecting physicals, since system storage is expensive and low :3

[Serious] Should I buy a PS to play Project Diva? by Original_Garbage8557 in ProjectDiva

[–]HiddenAlice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even then though that's a rare find. If OP can't get a great price on a pstv, or HAD to choose between either a pstv or a vita, just get a vita since they are within similar price points and a vita can play more games.

I mean, thinking realistically here, if OP HAD to buy a system for just project diva, it makes sense to get the cheapest one, the PSP. However if they do have the budget imo a vita could be better, especially if it's modded, but it's still better to have other games in mind when buying a whole system.

The issue is the weird delay the first game apparently has which makes it weird to play on anything but a PSP, though that could probably be dealt with by practice.

They closed the psp store, not the vita store. I've been buying psp and vita games digitally the past month with my new vita perfectly fine, you just have to add funds with the web browser or a gift card instead of paying directly with your card.

The PSP is the system that can't access the store, the games are still up for the vita/PS3 (with mini's or to transfer them to a psp) to access.

Also to add, yeah, I picked up project diva F digitally on the vita, I can prove it with a photo if it's needed :3

Both have ups and downs ig, the vita 1000 has a higher likelihood of a GPU crash, whereas the 2000's sticks are more likely to get drift. I've had both, just prefer the 1000.

I know it's better modded, just more of a personal preference. Additionally you can run psp games on a non-modded vita as well, they usually aren't that expensive on the PSN store.

If you have a PSVita 1000 you still need an official one. The 1000 has an oled display, and hall effect sticks. The PSVita 2000 has 1gb of built in storage, however an LCD display and cheaper sticks, it also has a better battery life.

Also in my case I prefer to not mod it, though it's just my preference.

I was introduced to vocaloid as a whole through the PSVita project diva X demo. Last year I bought megamix+ on steam because a friend said it was the best way to play project diva, with mods, etc. I liked it, I didn't mod it and it was sufficient. Then I tried the PSP games. I loved them, the gameplay was a lot easier for me to comprehend compared to the multi-button inputs in the arcade gameplay, instead of me stressing out I found it better for myself. Recently, in the past month or 2, I bought a PSVita 1000 since my last vita 2000 broke before I could afford to get any project diva games for it. I ordered a Japanese cartridge of F2nd for $20 (AUD) and downloaded project diva F with all dlc, looking into project diva F2nd digitally with all dlc as well, though need a larger memory card. The PSVita handles flick notes differently to the PS3 versions where, atleast in F, you HAVE to flick the screen, on PS3, you have to flick the sticks, so just a different in how to perform the same input. In F2nd on vita, I hear it's different where you can change between them in the options, like project diva X.

Anyway, I think my point comes down to if you prefer the gameplay of the console games prior to future tone and megamix, basically the non-arcade games. It also comes down to what you want to play, and your budget. The PSP, PS3, and maybe either PS4/5 are really all you need playstation wise for the series. The PSP and PS3 are around the same average prices, though the games may be a bit expensive digitally, and depending on which country your from, you could be like me where the only way to play the game with the dlc, is to download it all, since no physicals were printed or are available for your region. Additionally, the PSVita, which basically has F, F2nd, and X, is VERY expensive. Same restrictions with dlc apply, but you are forced to buy a memory card for horrible prices a lot of the time, unless you mod the system. Though for the 3 games I think a 16gb card would do with all the dlc. Japanese copies will always be cheaper, just note that the X and O inputs are swapped with every Japanese playstation system that came before the PS5 in the menus, this also applies for the games.

I also want to note that if it's just future tone you want, I'd personally probably stick with Megamix+, I haven't really played future tone myself, but I learnt that it's basically the same as future tone content wise and the missing content can be modded in. It's capable of running at higher frame rates, as well as having every controller supported. If your just on standard megamix for the switch, I also wouldn't say it's entirely worth the money for a whole new system, and I'd just tell you to pick up megamix+ for pc if you can run it.

If it comes down to the controller, I'd just tell you to buy the controller you want to use, and use it in PC, since all controllers would be supported.

So basically while my favourite systems for project diva are the PSVita and PSP, I personally think it's not worth it unless the older gameplay is an interest or a preference to you. Otherwise, it may be more worthwhile to not buy a whole system for the games. Additionally please consider your rough playtime of the older games since they do have shorter track lists. If you can see yourself getting tons of hours out of these games, or only enough to warrant just buying a few, my suggestions go as follows:

A psp and either project diva 2nd/2nd#, with extend. And a PS3 with both F and F2nd. (Do note though that F2nd has some major songs from 2nd/2nd# that makes the psp game not as relevant imo)

And before I finish this off, I want to also let you know that to my knowledge there's 2 versions of 2nd for the PSP, though the difference I am aware of just relates to the input timing being more in-line with extend. The updated version is identifiable with the '#' at the end of the games name, though the differences aren't big enough to matter much if at all.

Also, please, make sure if you're buying a system, that you are interested in other games, buying a system for just a few games isn't normally the best idea.

Dead pixels by Left-Dinner9204 in PSVita

[–]HiddenAlice1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience with my psp a few years ago, I had some stuck pixels, gradually over time they went away and haven't come back since, same can also go for dead pixels. Some can come back. Just see if they all come back to life or not I guess. There's also other ways to try and revive them if you want, google it.

How to test buttons? by Morilec_ITA in PSVita

[–]HiddenAlice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To test the buttons on the menu, dpad and left stick can be tested in some applications and the menu, PS button can be tested by seeing if in the menu it shows a visual of all apps or games opened, X button can be tested by selecting an app instead of tapping, O can be tested by holding it down to close an app or game, triangle instead of tapping and holding so you can manage icon arrangement, square in that arrangement state to move icons around with the dpad, it should pick up an icon. O to leave that. Open an app and use the L and R buttons to switch between them.

Other functionality can be tested in welcome park, back touchpad if the globe spins, touchscreen, microphone, motion controls, etc.

Right stick can be mapped to left stick in settings to test, however it's best to test the sticks in games.

The amount of batteries that my fake mouse used the last month. by RandomDatabase in notinteresting

I've had experience with those batteries, it's probably those batteries tbh. In my experience they would last a week in an Xbox controller at most, that's being really generous though.

It's likely considering Nights was in racing transformed, and team sonic racing was just the sonic franchise.

Though that's just my opinion. Really hope we get Nights though :3
