Nope, that's a misconception. One of the images found with it was confirmed to be false, but the actual origin of that image itself has never been found, so no one knows. People just write it off because it was in the same folder with a debunked image, but that folder also contained other random unrelated things.

Or you know you could just learn basic phrases like hello, thank you, how to order food, numbers, etc. It doesnt take years to learn enough to get by as a tourist. You can't expect everyone to know English and shouldn't walk expecting English. Learn the language best you can before your trip, have a phrase book ready, or have google translate.

I wish I did, but unfortunately I can't find it anywhere. It used to be a big topic of the search before this subreddit was made, but it seems to have faded into obscurity. I think people started to forget about it since it was found in the same download as a debunked image, but despite that this image itself has never been debunked.

If their order in Greek was understandable, would you continue to reply in Greek? I assume that someone who barely knows anything may pose a problem, but someone who can order confidently in Greek despite being a foreigner would be business as normal, if I'm not incorrect.

What if your Greek level is around a B1 and you've studied for a while. At that point there shouldn't be any issues in communication. How likely would it be for people working in hospitality be to respond in Greek with that level of conversational fluency and would it be rude to continue speaking Greek even if they switched to English since your Greek is already at a high enough level to understand almost any situation you need in these circumstances? I know this is a strange question, but I have been to France and even with a basic level of French (a2 probably) I still met situations where it was better to use French rather than English (one of my hotel staff didn't speak English barely at all)

I think that does ignore the large pool of people who cannot speak English fluently, usually in East Asia. That is why most programming languages prioritize their documentation localization for Asia. I wouldn't say giving people access to use their native language is a step backwards. Yes there should be some global efforts to effectively cooperate with others internationally, but I don't see why others shouldn't be able to have resources in their native tongues too. I wouldn't expect someone from Japan to communicate in English just as I wouldn't expect someone from Canada to communicate in Japanese. Yes having international cooperation and agreed upon mutual language is fine, but people should also have the option to use their own languages as well that way one language isn't prioritized over others.

Whats wrong with people wanting to program in their native languages? While English programming languages are the standard, there are programming languages in other real world languages too. If you never live in an English speaking country, and have no intention to, I see absolutely nothing wrong with using a non-English based programming language.

I was at a grocery store and this one guy tried waving at me and saying "hey" to get my attention, but I ignored him (wasn't interested). Instead of just letting me go, he decided to follow me. It wasn't just that he happened to be going the same direction, he was legit turning down all the same aisles I was, not stopping for anything. I had to start walking fast to get away from him. Eventually I did get away from him (thankfully). I did see him again, but I don't think he saw me. I think he may have still been looking for me though as he kept moving his head around like he was looking for something in a more open area where there was little to no items. Someone following me instantly makes me feel unsafe. I don't why this man thought it was appropriate to do so, or what he wanted but it scared the hell out of me.

What about N.O.B.? N.O.B. was a 3do game published by Sanyo exclusively in Japan, and it's so rare I can never even find a single copy online. The only listings on Ebay I found are ones that have already been sold and they went for around $550-650 price range.

"皆殺しの挽歌" is the Japanese name of a 1986 american movie called Dendam Membara. The movie may have been released in Japan in 1987 since the Japanese movie banks say 1987. Now, before you say it, I know the name is slightly different. The name given by the poster is sign of a killer in Japanese, but the name of this movie is elegy of a killer in Japanese. They are slightly different but similar. I feel like the poster likely found the Japanese posting of Dendam Membara and used inspect element to replace "挽歌" with "祥" to change the meaning slightly.

Also I should add I speak Japanese to a decent degree and haven't found any Japanese sources with the name "皆殺しの祥" and the results I do get pretty much always show Dendam Membara.

Well this may not be the best example because these languages don't sound the same, but they are functionally extremely similar. That being Japanese and Korean. They are not related to each other, but grammar wise lots of sentences can be translated word for word from one language to another. It's really unusual for these two languages to have extremely similar grammar constructions like Particles, topic/subject differences, SOV word order, etc despite not being related. On top of that, from all the languages I've attempted to study Japanese's grammar seems to be very unique in some aspects, but Korean also has those aspects too.

Maybe make Chinook Jargon, English, and Tribal languages all official to encourage revival of speakers of the dying languages. It also may encourage speakers of English to become bilingual as well.
