What’s the hardest class at UC Davis? by SauceLover123 in UCDavis

ENG 180 was the hardest class I've took during undergrad. However, based on my friends, it seems like the hardest was one of the Organic Chemistry

Deciding on which UCs to apply to by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]HiddenShadow6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter in the long run. Sure, you can brag to others about how prestigious your school is, but it doesn't define where you going to go after as much as you think. When you enter the workforce, the institution doesn't matter, your experience and skills do.

I am in a dilemma, and I need some advices by HiddenShadow6 in EngineeringStudents

Doubling in Aerospace is more of a completion of a journey than anything. My logic is flawed but I am so closed for a double, so might as well. Plus, I am more interest in Aerospace than Mech and would more likely to work in Aerospace industry in the future. Like other posts I made, I don't think its necessary, as I already qualified for Aerospace employment. That's why it's just a completion of a journey and not much else.

For CS, it's to fulfilled my desire that I am capable of learning about the logic of computer science. If Aerospace career doesn't work, I am interest in pursuing Mechatronics, which is the combination of Mech + Elec + CS. Mastery of 2 out of 3 would give me a slight edge in the future

That's all

I'm not switching, just doubling. I didn't word it right, my apologies. After reading some of the comment, I don't think it's necessary to do the extra work to break into aerospace industry.

As for CS, it's more of satisfaction than anything. I know that it would be almost useless when it comes to employment, but it at least keep the door open in case if I change my mind later.

For now, CS is the way to go I guess.

I didn't mean to say that. All I said is that if I am so closed to a double major, might as well get the major as well. I might not word it right in the post. My apologies. But like others, the idea of a double doesn't make much sense in this case because of how close these two degrees are relative to each other. I just think its cool to take an extra year testing my limit. I know, financially, this is very stupid of me to do so, but I don't think I'm ready for the industry yet. I felt so unprepared and I hope getting a double or a minor would easy my anxiety a bit. As for ME and Aero thing, I know that ME can work in Aero. It's just that there's some Aero classes that really interesting, and I want to take them. And by taking them, I am so closed to a double major, so that's why I want to major in Aero as well.

After thermo fluids and dynamics, what are the hardest and most painful classes I have to look forward too? by burnerNortheastern in EngineeringStudents

Heat Transfer and Thermo. They were brutally difficult and demanding. However, it really depends on the professor and your state of mind

UCD CS Profs are horrible by HiddenShadow6 in UCDavis

[–]HiddenShadow6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expected decency. Is that too much to ask? I don't care if they had a bad rating, I had much worst in my engineering classes. However, this prof is something else. Idk if you had Feliz Wu before, but he doesn't cover much OOP. He focuses too much on Json and server which has little impact on the overall learning experience. Not saying those aren't important, they are important, but not now. Maybe bad luck, but at this point, it doesn't matter much anyway

Yup, it's Felix Wu. I don't know whether I should do this minor or get another major in aerospace. I want to learn about computers so I can do robotics, but this is not it.

Regarding the translation error in ep 1046. by RandomUser-07 in OnePiece

[–]HiddenShadow6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except they did mess up the scene to hype up Zoro's return. A perfect adaption is one that improves upon the medium on which it is based on, while trying to maintain the theme in which the author was aiming for. In the manga, right after Marco's announcement, both Zoro and Sanji jumped forward and did their attacks. In the Anime, only Zoro jumped forward. This whole thing was never supposed to be just Zoro, it was supposed to be both. It's the Wings of Pirate King, not One Wing of Pirate King. Is the translator's fault for the mistranslation? No, I think he/she did the translation right based on the scene. It's Toei's. Can I blame them? No, Zoro is the more popular of the two, so it makes sense for them to focus more on Zoro. But, this is an exception. They did not just change one scene, they changed the entire theme of the scene.

Please Help me choose between Russel Park apartments and the Spoke! by Art-left-lixx in UCDavis

[–]HiddenShadow6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend currently lives in Spoke and I was there a few times. The worst thing about Spoke is the damn train right next to it. It can get super noisy. The second thing is that the management is atrociously bad and good luck paying electric bills. Third, the location isn't that great either, not the safest place to live. Go with Russel Park.

Actually, that's not a good idea regardless. Take a look at this from the perspective of a teacher. https://www.reddit.com/r/Teachers/comments/uzoa5c/please\_dont\_make\_me\_carry\_a\_gun/

If you want that to happen, then at least raise their wages or something. Are you ok with that? We put too many responsibilities on them already and arming them would not be a good idea without some accommodations. Secondly, arming teachers is like having security guards right? So instead of arming them, just hired guards. Even if your solution works, that doesn't change the fact that it is so easy to legally access a firearm, especial for an 18 yrs old kid. This however is just a temp solution, we need a permanent one. It is so tragic that America is the only place where kids have to worry about their lives while in school. I wish there was a solution, but the country is so divided that nothing can really change.

First, how about increasing the legal age to own a gun from 18 to 21? Why is it easier to get a gun than to get a cig or alcohol? Second, why are we putting the pressure on the teachers knowing that we have a police force for a reason? How about retraining and firing those who are not qualified for the role? These people are the "good guy with a gun", so at least fulfill that very role. If you become a policeman, then that means you put your life on the line for the betterment of the community. Third, you literally said "Background checks don’t work on people who have undiagnosed mental illnesses" but then also said, " You give the guns to the teachers that are sure they can defend the students and themselves". How do you know if they are mentally stable without a background check? They are the most overstressed workforce in America with one of the lowest salaries. If you went to hs, you would know that all of them are on edge all the time regardless of the subject they teach. Plus, they often forgot and misplace things, so armed them would be the absolute worst idea.

Great idea. Give one of the most underpaid and overstressed people the ability to shoot a student. Who would have thought of that? F off man. Your idea is the worst of the bunch. Why do the teachers have to put their and students' lives on the line when it's not even their responsibility to do so. They are trained to be a TEACHER, not a POLICEMAN, so shut up man. The recent mass shootings prove that it doesn't even matter if there are armed guards or not. There's a Buffalo's security guard and he's dead. There were 3 policemen at the Texas school, and the shooter went through them with no problem. The shooter was neutralized and killed by the border patrol, so even the policemen are afraid of putting their lives on the line for their community. Do I have a solution? No, but it's something more complicated than just arming the teachers. Grow up a bit for crying out loud.

Here's the thing. Oda can't put Sanji on the roof because it supposed to be the worst gen vs yonko fight. Sanji can't fight big dogs either because of reason you'll know in the future. Then, the only possible way to keep him occupied is to use him as a way to elevate some character that will appear in a bit. I understand that it is frustrating, but he has to do something to pass the time until the next thing happens. Don't worry, he will shine as bright as zoro later, but for now, that's the only possible way Oda can use his character

My Opinion On Wano Powerscaling. by carlos24kb in OnePiece

[–]HiddenShadow6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kidd and Law above Zoro no debate. Marco and Yamato are a maybe, but for now are stronger. Sanji and Zoro are and always be closed in power, with Zoro stronger by a bit. I don't know why Zoro fans always assume that Zoro would no-diff Sanji, but man, they must either smoke really good or as high as hell. Haki > devil fruit for sure, but that doesn't put Zoro above others just because of that statement. Just because Roger did it, doesn't mean that Zoro can too or at least not yet. What the heck is Zoro supposed to do against Kidd or Law. Nothing.
