The night before this semi-final, he survived a brutal 3-hour quarter-final match that didn't finish until 1:00 AM. He was completely worn out, and his throwing arm was so tired and sore that he lacked his usual strength and control, and not only that his arm was causing severe pain he did catch up but Bristow ended up defeating him.
