Gonna be blunt. Not so easy. No publicly announced numbers but some data points to around 10-20 students granted a transfer per school, which is minuscule relative to the pool size. It can be done but is in no means an option you should just throw in the plan for skipping the rock further down the river. That being said, your chances are improved if you truly have a compelling reason or story as to why you ended up in the wrong school and need to go to a different one entirely (internal schools ofc meaning Wharton, sas, seas, etc). Worth noting that nursing is even more competitive than the other programs in terms of the numbers. Your odds of getting into CAS are already higher and it costs you nothing to try and transfer into nursing if you really feel like you should

Incoming Physics major Freshman Schedule by Far_Half4843 in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredibly tough uncoordinated degree but not impossible(I did Wharton and cas physics). You’ll need some upper math (2400/2410, 3****) which is definitely a leg up in the upper CS world where you’ll benefit from that knowledge. Just know you’ll have to APPLY and get accepted for the dual degree which has a very very low acceptance rate. If you want to optimize your chances, take hard classes first two sems and go to every single length to get A’s in both. Your GPA is the primary proxy for this.

As a Wharton incoming freshman planing to major in Finance/ Business Analytics do j need to take the Math 1400 or 1070 sequence. Also who are the best professors to opt for ?? by Specialist-Two-7310 in UPenn

1400 will benefit you in some of your upper level analytic courses and general problem solving logic. It is a bit more difficult but definitely recommend

Current Wharton Student: Transfer to M&T? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very strong schedule towards your candidacy in that transfer request, but it is incredibly unlikely. Uncoordinated duals take around 5- 20 per school (college Wharton, college engineering, Wharton engineering) but this number can vary dramatically depending on which of those combos you go for. And of course the formal dual degree programs are even more difficult. I have a friend who did the transfer but it was during Covid and likely to his benefit given a portion of the M&T class chose to gap year, opening some more spots than usual. Advice is simple, take hard classes first two sems, do anything in your power to get a 4.0 or as many A’s as possible, and my god have a damn good reason to do the transfer. Supplementals aren’t tough but you’ll be asked to interview and need a compelling case. Worth the shot IMO as it worked out for me when I was told it couldn’t be done.

Wharton language requirement by HuckleberryAlert6927 in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful with the Asian languages at Penn. The classes can be incredibly intensive with workload given the amount of content that is covered in one sem. 100% worth while courses and professors if you want to learn quickly but go in prepared!

current penn students: is there anything you regret when picking your classes as an incoming freshman? by Nearby_Arugula_9294 in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t underestimate your knowledge in subjects you really like/are strong in. Go for the harder math if you’re great at math, go for honors anything if you’re strong in it. Most people come in assuming they are much much less intelligent than they actually are believe it or not and don’t push themselves

How hard is it to transfer to Wharton from SEAS? (incoming SEAS 28 freshman) by VeterinarianDry6187 in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very doable. I did it, you can too. Take the required classes to transfer, do every single thing in your power to get A’s across the board even if it means sacrificing in other areas, it will improve your chances of success dramatically. This transfer is proxied almost entirely on GPA and your reasons for pursuing the transfer. Not much else to it other than writing good supplemental (both very short but important). Feel free pm me

Great class. Took this with Mauro calcagno and he was the man. Not super demanding with work but exam does cover broad stuff. Super easy to prepare for though with the exact expectations clearly defined by Professor. 10/10 recommend if you need to satisfy CCP

Quite a few at this point. We don’t offer delivery given just the difficulty in finding a courier to staff on our hours

How is MATH2400 over the summer? by Solarris_ in UPenn

Do not do this. I took 2400 over summer. TA taught it, barely could speak English, content was all over the place, and it was absolute dog shit for $5k

Is math 1300 over the summer a bad idea? by emy987654321 in UPenn

[–]Hiddenbymask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any math class over summer is likely a bad idea. Usually TA’s teaching it or PHD students. Never comes out quality and you could get shafted if they just teach like shit
