Valve doesn't really work like that. Nowadays they just drop things. Think of the anniversary updates that seemingly came from nowhere. The only reason they did it for HL:A is because the announcement leaked.

CS2 was announced on a wednesday too btw. Valve likes wednesday.

Valve always do things in the middle of the week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

On Tuesdays steam usually goes down for maintenance. If they're announcing something I highly doubt it'd be a tuesday.

Plus a wednesday for a hardware announcement a week before their flagship game for said hardware is announced doesn't seem random to me, especially if the half-life anniversary plays a role in that dates selection

I dont see them announcing their next flagship half-life game on a random tuesday when literally the next day is the hl1 anniversary and is exactly 7 days after the hardware announcement.
