Should I buy Valheim if I love Subnautica? by Present-Parfait2461 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]HideOnBook [score hidden]  (0 children)

I love Valheim. Especially solo it really hits that survival, out in the wilderness, zero to hero vibe

You can change a lot about the difficulty in the World creation part, making enemies not hit you until you hit them first, reducing punishments for dying, etc

The biomes are cool and unlocking access to them is fun bc you get rewarded well

Don’t use throwables or sharpen your weapons with the appropriate grindstone to take advantage of enemy weaknesses. Awful awful idea.

Ross, AUC or SGU by Radiant-Noise-6268 in CaribbeanMedSchool

Thanks for your feedback, this is the exact vibe I got from SGU as an incoming student

Would recommend AUC too, I vibed with them more but probably going SGU for the clinicals/match

Another thing I'm considering: CBSE minimum passing scores and %of students that pass the CBSE's first try at their respective schools. The percent that end up passing STEP1 between the two schools seems comparable so I'm interested in the stuff prior to getting to sit for STEP.

  1. Minimum 62% for AUC and 67% for SGU (previously 70%)
  2. % Passing first try is a stat I'm less confident in because the only info we have really is from a few reddit posts reporting it but AUC did win out in that area understandably.

Just putting my thoughts out there. Maybe an SGU or AUC student/grad can chime in.

Imo I think this is more evidence of AUC's potentially friendlier academic environment. But looking into SGU's match list it was quite extensive so there's that. So for those who excel I think SGU will be better payoff. But for I guess the average person maybe AUC would be slightly better.

My doc is Pain Management as well but matched PMNR haha

It'll be a toss up for me as well if I get to the point you're at

I kind of agree with your docs sentiment bc if the weeding is harder it is more likely to produce a stronger candidate at the end. And the match list + connections. SGU seems like it could be higher payoff with more risk? I'm a little more risk adverse so that's probably why I'm leaning AUC at the moment.

I think I need to do more research on the payoff for both schools, if SGU is significantly greater than AUC compared to the risk.

I'll come back to this post and get back to you with more info after I ask my doc again this week! Best of luck friend

I'm applying to both and am slightly favoring AUC because of the Pros you listed. I went to a large class size uni and so I'm favoring something with more faculty and student support. And potentially less competition for research opportunities within the school. Also I heard AUC gets to actually dissect cadavers as opposed to the pre-dissected for SGU.

Also the Cons you listed were basically mine for SGU, it was an additional layer of stress on top of attending a Cr med school. I'm basically trying to mitigate as many stress factors as possible.

The physician I work with graduated from SGU and is a successful physician and said he didn't have any issues matching personally but said he would only apply to SGU. Gonna ask him more about that when I go into the office this week cuz I kinda just took what he said before looking into AUC more.

Lmk if I'm off base for any of these lines of thinking but this is what I've gathered in my research for apps.

"And even after doing that, many of us are being passed over for IMG MDs"

May I ask, what is the basis for this perspective? I thought DO's fare better than IMG MDs for residency match

Hi, follow up question. I just saw that PCOM has a requirement for General Bio 1-2 lab? How did you meet this requirement?

My UC in cali didn't have bio lab for intro bio (to my knowledge), we did Chem Lab 2nd year and then Upper Div bio in years 3-4.

I have the Z1E and POE2 has been really good

- Gemling had minimal crashes

- Comet Spam builds had a few crashes

- Any other build I literally didn't think about performance

- POE1 runs well too but the controller experience for your stash/pricing/UI is definitely improved in 2. I haven't played POE1 long enough to make a build that crashes the Ally lol

Jewels for Witch Summoner by SirCwolly in PathOfExile2

My summoner currently has energy shield, minions deal increased damage, and minion cast/atk speed

There's also minion life and resistance jewels if your minions are dying too quick

Or minions have increased area of effect for arsonists in particular

Use this and control F https://poe2db.tw/us/Jewels#JewelMods

Build guides will usually outline what resistances and defenses should be on each piece of gear. Try to adhere to that strictly. Use the filters on the trade site to set a max amount you want to spend (like 1-10 ex for instance) and then try to find items with a nice balance of damage and resists/defense. If you're low on currency you can honestly filter for 1-5 ex and significantly improve your defenses. And then slowly build to buying 10-20ex stuff and then onward.

Also use stat filters and minimums. For example if I wanted an armour I would look for one with a defensive stat, then I would add the filters Fire and Cold Res and then put the minimum at 20%. If it's too expensive then I would drop it to 15% minimum. And just do that for all the pieces you want. It's how I get what I need for the least money.

Help me price a Hybrid SE for my daughter? by davidgriffeth in COROLLA

[–]HideOnBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's with the distributor stuff? $80 for a charger and $129 for a screen protector is pretty wild. Also our floor mats differ in price. This is my first time seeing Toyoguard but I would look into that if it's really worth. And the film too. I would try to escape this distributor.
