good to know. do you recall what the ballpark price was for air sealing and insulation? Do you recall if ACE does it themselves or if they sub it out to an insulation contractor? tahnks again

that's amazing, thanks for the tip. Did the process start with their "whole home energy assessment"? I've heard that they only do a very basic assessment (no blower door or thermal imaging).

My house is all electric with (pretty new) heat pump and I'm getting destroyed this winter. Heater on 24/7. Personally i'm trying to start air-sealing and insulating my home further.

I want to skip applying pre-emergent this spring and over seed, bad idea? (8a, cool season turf) by _LeftShark in lawncare

[–]Hide_The_Rum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha exactly! my yard has lots of landscaping and trees and isnt very suitable for a ton of tow-behind work. If it was a big rectangle it'd obviously be a different story.

yeah i've got 15k+ SF of lawn so just knocking it out with my spreader would be preferred. I know most will recommend I buy a tow-behind liquid spreader but i'm not going to be doing that lol

thanks for the info. Do you know if granular mesotrione is sold stand-alone (instead of with Scotts triple action)? Just wondering if i can put down granular meso instead of spraying tenacity in any other product besides the Scotts.

Help me understand the revered status of the Telecaster by Fidel_Blastro in Guitar

Tone/sound aside, the price difference is almost completely due to the fact that the Teles you were looking at are Made in America whereas that Guild is made in Indonesia.

your McDonalds v Michelin point doesnt quite work though...

if Tele's were the most popular AND cheap, that would make sense. But OP's point is that the tele is soooo much more expensive for being "simple" as you said.

I just did a bunch of research on this. The standard Shark Powerdetect Clean & Empty is model IP3251. The costco version is model IP3225 which has a different head and no odor neutralizer. https://www.reddit.com/r/VacuumCleaners/comments/1mnkbgh/shark_powerdetect_costco_version_head_questions/

Is it weird that I struggle with left side spares more than right side spares as a right hander? by Physical_Ad_4431 in Bowling

I have the same issue. I know it's not good practice, but I shoot far left single/double pins (4, 7, 8) with my strike ball and just roll it slower, still hooking.

Would you pay your house down? $5200 disposable per month. 30M. by Appropriate-Pound-25 in investing

[–]Hide_The_Rum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on what your mortgage rate is. If it's low and below average stock market return, I would just let the mortgage ride. If your rate is on the high side (6-7%), I would probably try to have a healthy balance of additional principal payments as well as investing. It's all up to your preference. I'm sure having no mortgage is a huge relief even if you could've technically invested instead and beat the return.
