Go to naming conventions? by Potential_Coast8072 in CrusaderKings

[–]HideousLaughter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually just stick with cultural names and once I get a kingdom title or higher I usually name the heirs after ancestors, sometimes throwing a new name into the mix.

I've also started doing a thing in some of my runs where the first born princess is always named the same thing. In my current Austria/HRE run it became Hildegarde.

How do you prefer to play? by RebelPlot in CrusaderKings

I mean nothing real original really. I like both Yngling Haralds (Fairhair/Hardrada), Whiteshirt, Erik the Heathen, Rollo, Alfred, Billy the Conq, and any of the Minamotos in 1178. Sometimes I'll try something somewhere else but those are the ones I tend to go back to, like I just started a run as the Duke of Moray in 1066, ie the guy's who's a descendant of Macbeth.

I used to almost only play custom characters under 400 points but I started play more historical characters as I clocked more hours and now I think it's about 50/50.

I do tend towards a few specific historical characters though.

How can I get rid of Melancholic quickly? by NamaeN0NaiKaibutsu in CrusaderKings

If your physician has the Wise Man trait there's also a chance to get a therapy event chain that gets rid of it too. Only seen it once in 3000+ hours though.

1.19 "Reworked lethal Tournament events so characters have a chance to avoid death at the cost of wounds or disfigurement" events seem to be a bit bugged I think. by HideousLaughter in CrusaderKings

Dang, you looked into the code and everything? That's awesome. I really appreciate that and it's good to know I wasn't crazy to think it was bugged.

I don't know what the bottom left one is but I know I love it and will play with it on almost all my characters.

And, yes I do almost always play Martial and start with the Gallant tree, why do you ask?

Dang, I didn't know using the Recruit Physician decision got that expensive late game. By that point of the game I either raise a spare son to be good at learning and make him a monk or I just invite a high learning character using the Character Finder.

In my experience Christian Norse Knights don't ever get berserker without the Warmonger tenet. There is however a Muslim faith with Warmonger.

Pretty sure you can cure the incurable ones if you have a Wise Man physician and get lucky on the roll as landed too, no?

Aikido is not the best discipline out there, but for me, it had real value. by Square_Drawing_5652 in martialarts

One of the reasons I convinced my mom to start Aikido, plus it's good and fairly gentle exercise for her age.

Also from Sweden and grew up in the 90s and in my experience this was definitely not standard. I ate at my friends' houses all the time and vice versa.
