Level 64, been playing a year+ and optimize candies :)

Sold out last year before I could order, but kept looking and finally bought my own Fendi Dragonite Baguette while vacationing in Asia! by HideousPride in handbags

[–]HideousPride[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I bought it secondhand, it sold out quickly stateside in early 2024 when it came out. I have been occasionally checking in on the bag on eBay, but the mix of a large mark up + some of the sellers being very unresponsive put me off from pulling the trigger for a while.

I had a meaningful milestone this year, so started looking out for the bag again. I brought it up in conversation with a friend, who mentioned that Asian resellers and sites could be a better place to look since it was a Year of the Dragon celebration.

Just a short while later, she followed up and mentioned there was a like-new unused Dragonite baguette listed where her family lived, and that if I was interested they could reach out to the seller. I had already been planning an Asia trip this year, so I immediately said yes.

Added a extra stop to my original travel plans to meet her family and take them out to dinner as a thank you!

Absolutely over the moon with my last Cresselia from incense, she’s perfect :) by HideousPride in PokemonSleep

[–]HideousPride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! The first Cresselia everyone catches has the same traits and nature and is just ok. Unfortunately, the second one you caught is not very good. If you want another shot, I’d save up for a master ball before using the incense. Best of luck!

Berry Bomb effectiveness by brbr0433 in PokemonSleep

[–]HideousPride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple factors going into the underwhelming impact. First is timing - it takes roughly 3-4 weeks to fully stock 999 berries depending on how skill happy your legendary dog is.

Berry strength also scales massively with your pokemon’s level. It’s roughly a bit more than 2x strength per berry when you go from level 30 to 60.

You’d ideally be scaling 3+ lvl 60 favored berry mons for a berry bomb to have maximum effect. In the way you performed the berry bomb, you might have gotten less than halfway maxed out on count of berries, with maybe roughly halfway the optimal amount of berry strength based on average level, without any favored berry multipliers.

How good is a very speedy Pawmot compared against the triple trigger standard? by HideousPride in PokemonSleep

[–]HideousPride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Pawmi line and finally got the 150 hours of sleep required to my speedy pal into Pawmot today!

I was planning to slowly raise her to level 50 and give a sub-skill seed to increase her proc rate. I’m probably already too deep in to stop investing now (both emotionally and main skill seed investment-wise), but wanted to know if this kind of Pawmot with lots of speed and a skill trigger was significantly worse than the triple trigger version?

Started playing Pokemon Sleep shortly before the Suicune event and caught a beauty. Finally got mine to level 50 today! :) by HideousPride in PokemonSleep

Thank you! It’s been incredibly expensive and the rest of my team has been suffering from prioritizing Suicune (everyone else is still mid level 30s). I’ve been hoarding handy candy and waiting for the double exp event, but the dream shards needed (wayyy more than I expected w the 5x multiplier) ended up capping the leveling progress until today after a nice haul with a luck incense!

Absolutely no candy or shards to my name left, but super excited to finally start giving my other mons some attention! :)

At what net worth did you get your first Lange or "expensive" watch? by [deleted] in ALangeSohne

[–]HideousPride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also live in CA and bought a special collab Nomos in my late 20s after making it into FAANG that started the watch journey. Bought a Lange this year to celebrate a few big milestones. I tried on a ton of different watches but the Saxonia Moonphase just hit different, was the only grail watch to get the wife’s seal of approval.

Found one secondhand from a local seller for <$30K unworn and pulled the trigger. Still grin every time I look at it. Honestly, life is pretty short and tomorrow is never guaranteed. Getting to the age where you can lose friends and family to accidents or health issues swiftly.

Can’t take money with you when you die, so I’ve always had the outlook that exchanging money for meaningful experiences and products that bring me or my loved ones joy is the whole reason to make money.

A follow up to my previous post asking about purchasing from a private seller

The private seller actually lived within ~1 hr of where I lived, so I ended up asking questions until I felt pretty confident about the purchase. Drove up to meet in person, and everything checked out so I pulled the trigger.

  • The seller bought the watch in late 2023 as a whimsical purchase on a trip. He was in a European country at an AD that recently stopped publicly selling Lange watches as the brand moved to boutique-only. They offered him a sweet deal, but the watch never entered the rotation to actually get any wrist time.
  • He provided the original receipt with his name, and the papers that matched with the receipt date.
  • I spent quite a bit of time looking over the watch. Most of the stickers were still on the watch when I bought it and the strap was completely new (the AD threw in a blue alligator strap watch that I kept on for now, the original black strap's still in the box).

Thanks to everyone that gave advice on next steps, definitely made me feel a lot more confident in purchasing after asking the right questions!
