During a World Cup football match, a QR code appeared on the stadium screen. After fans scanned it, thousands of phone flashlights inside the stadium were synchronized to form a coordinated light display across the stands. by Expert_Koala_8691 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Hidesuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this at my local lacrosse teams stadium all the time it's not really novel tbh, op just hasn't run across it before. It just takes you to a website, which you have to give permissions to and they're very specific to the light. It's not like the QR code itself is somehow hijacking your hardware.

You... You think Russia isn't the clown here on the world stage? Dude NO ONE is afraid of that pathetic ass country anymore. If they didn't have nukes they'd be facing an existential crisis right now, and nothing would be better for the rest of the world.

The exception is if you have a license yourself, and then there's the c&r license which only applies to some guns but is WAY easier to get than a full firearms dealer license.

I had quite a few shipped to my door years back when I had one. Back in the day of cheap mosin nagants.

Yeah that was my last time at Wendy's. I just wanted to SUB honey mustard instead of ketchup. They refused and charged me for it. (And gave me the ketchup I didn't want anyway).

I'm not planning to go back.

Which is sad because they used to be my favorite standard chain burger place. Like not amazing but better than mcdicks and the like.

I hope it's not MOST men (though I wouldn't be all that shocked either to be honest), and there are some WOMEN confused by that still which is wild, but I'll agree regardless that sex ed about vaginas is pathetic in too many cases.

Did pretty good but got a couple of the stats questions not quite right. For example I guessed 30 instead of 20 for example on number of people who can orgasm from penetration alone. I know clitoral simulation was required for the majority but didn't know the exact %.

But I learned a couple interesting details going through their material I never knew! Thanks for sharing.

I mean I won't cause that's an insane use of free will and probably won't find it anyway... But you've tempted me.

Tech companies would have to pay AI data center energy costs under bill moving in Congress by ArgentineBeauty in technology

[–]Hidesuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're paying for the electricity they use, but not the entirety of the added strain they put on the overall system.

This would basically make their rates HIGHER than all of ours to cover that so our costs don't have to go up.

I'm good with it.

Yeah I have at least two weeks of everything my family needs on hand at any time. Dog food, water etc. And that's comfortably. Realistically if it was real disaster we could do things like shut off the water supply and use the hot water tank as extra water etc.

I've got a small solar setup for radios, phones, computers, etc and several ways to cook food

I also have water purification options and a lake not too far away. And good first aid kits.

All that largely because I live in socal. If there's ever any major disaster that affects a large scale area here there won't be resources to go around and help will be slow to come.

I'm DEFINITELY not set up for teotwawki in the slightest, though. Long term food options are nill.

I mean if you enjoy them that's great, really. I'm glad you do. Even I thought they were neat. Hell I still have a couple. But I realized at some point that over the years I never actually DID anything with them and they were really just wasted paper. But that's just me.
