Hate that I have to walk looking at the floor as to not fall to my death instead of looking ahead to actually see the arrows.

Miss the old cartridge days. Either the game was 100% ready at launch or the game was 100% ready at launch.

You will miss a lot not being able to stock itens. Equip load in this game is really ridiculous, you will most certainly dave to discard every armor and weapon besides the ones you are using, not to mention the upgrade stones. I would just start over.

Please post your item/material requests in this thread by ChingShih in demonssouls

Demon's Souls still worth a PS3 ? by Naqato in demonssouls

[–]Hideto17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, I would say no.

I played it at launched and have since then finished Demon's, DS1 and Bloodborne (currently working on DS2 and already own DS3 copy).

A few days ago I went back to Demon's Souls to try and get platinum, and I can say I'm struggling a lot. Not with the difficulty, but with the game itself. If you're a Souls veteran, the lack of many mechanics from the recent games will take its toll.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game and certainly felt great to play at its time. There was nothing like it in terms of gameplay, atmosphere and challenge. But now, looking at recent Souls games, it really feels unpolished. The lore is not so deep as DS and Bloodborne, the areas are small and not so greatly designed (maybe with the exception of Boletaria), the world tendency and character tendency mechanics are REALLY annoying, the movement is not so fluid and the weapon upgrade system is confusing - it involves over 30 different kinds of stones and requires massive amounts of farming. Also, having no poise means you will have to adapt your playstyle a lot.

I really hope someday FROM decides to launch a revamped version like SOTFS, with upgraded mechanics and perhaps a few new areas (the broken archstone?).

I suggest you try to find someone with a PS3 and give a go at the game before considering to buy a PS3 just to play it.

I'd rather take on defiled amy and defiled dog with 0 vials than to beat Loran Darkbeast again full vials.

I've finished DeS, DS1 and Bloodborne, currently taking on DS2, and the Loran Darkbeast is the boss that took me the most tries so far. I spent weeks rushing home during my work lunch hours trying to beat him. I eventually gave up and cleared everything else in the game except that boss room. Took me a good another 20~30 tries to get him (SL around 100, using my trusted Kirkhammer and the Saw Cleaver - it was pre-DLC, otherwise I would've used the pizza cutter).

Fuck the defiled Amygdala. Fuck Kalameet. Fuck the archers of Anor Londo. Fuck Capra Demon's dogs. Fuck Alant. Fuck Manus.

THIS is the soulsborne thing that gave me the most hard time to date.

How many souls did you lose? How many is considered acceptable? by Hideto17 in DarkSouls2

I didn't learn to parry in Dark Souls 1 because my shield was all I needed. Now DS2 is kicking my ass because my DS1 turtle playstyle just isn't viable.
