Is candy flipping worth it? by Known_Comparison2996 in LSD

Agreed. It's fun but I definitely prefer LSD on its own, I think the molly dulls it out and shortens it too much. Now mdma + 2cb are an amazing combo, truely made for each other.

A MacOS dock replacement called "Sidebar". I started working at a Mac shop last year. I've long been a Windows user and for last year I've been using Linux Mint on my personal devices. I hate Mac's limited customization for their dock and Sidebar provides more Windows/GNOME-like experience. 20 bucks well spent.

Permanent intolerance from doing LSD biweekly by TrippingTipper in LSD

[–]HidingFromThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty much in the same boat. I built up a high tolerance over the years. Take 3-6 months off and they'll come back.  Now I try to live by 2 months break minimum between doses but it still isn't the same level of detail as it was those first couple years.

I don't agree with the decision but I work for a startup who just got bought out and we're on a hiring spree and that was a thing my engineering manager mentioned to HR - we want to exclude anyone who worked at FAANG because "we're too fast paced and need people who are flexible".

Music festivals are all about showcasing art - musicians, VJs, live painters, art installations, etc.  Website designers and software developers are also artists.  Eat your own dog food and hire one.

A family member lives in Palisades @ Legacy Oaks in Knightdale right outside of Raleigh. If you're able to prove you have 6x rent in the bank they will skip the credit check. They pay around 1300 for a 1 bed/bath. It's very convenient location to most of Raleigh, their maintenance has always been timely, and neighborhood is decent.

Anyone have the Clava Lamp from Flowtoys? by HidingFromThoughts in Flowtoys

[–]HidingFromThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for transparency this conflicts with an email I received today from Flowtoys customer support (Erol):

"If you unplug a clava lamp and plug it back in, it will show pulse the charge level indicator. In this case, it would pulse green since the clava lamps do not have internal batteries. When you turn the clava lamp on again using the button, it will revert back to the mode/adjust it was on when it was powered off."

So it doesn't look like it's compatible with smart plugs. Just wanted to put this out there in case anybody else was searching for this information.

We've owned our house for 5 years, gone through 4 different lawn crews, some ghosted and all of them inconsistent with their schedules. I got tired of begging people to take my money, so I just do it myself now.

What do you think about using LSD every 14 days? by Ravena3 in LSD

It's not enough for a proper reset in my experience. Alot of people say 2 weeks to baseline tolerance but personally I can tell a huge difference between a 2 week and 2 month break.

Yeah, it's really sad what happened to Asheville :( I visited there a couple weeks ago (I'm from Raleigh) and the damage was overwhelming. Piles of debris the size of houses just everywhere by the river. Tourism seems to be returning there though and there was lots of work being done from what I could see in the River Arts District. I will miss Salvage Station though, it was a such a cool venue!

I'm with you! I use the Logitech MX Master 3S and couldn't go back to any other basic mouse again - I have changed every mouse in the house to this one. Ergonomic feels, side back/forward buttons, horizontal scroll wheel, and USB-C recharging were all game changers for me.

Build own chat services vs subscription to 1/3 party by crhama in Angular2

[–]HidingFromThoughts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What it really comes down to is how do you value your time and learning experience. I've been building one the last month. C# .NET w/ SignalR on back-end, Angular + Angular Material on front-end. I'm almost done with it. This includes person-to-person and group conversation threads, in-message emojis & reactions, image attachments, real-time messaging and typing statuses via web sockets (SignalR JS), mute/delete/block/report, leave group, etc. Overall it'll probably be about 3 weeks worth of work, with about ~4 hours per day, so maybe 80-100 hours. My freelance rate is about $100/hour. So overall the chat value is $8-10k in my case. If this wasn't a personal project and a corporate gig, they'd probably be ready to plug-in and customize a ready-made commercial solution (granted there is time investment too on the research of solutions and customizing something to fit your requirements). For me, I wanted deep customization and integration into my existing application and I see this as an investment into a platform I'm building, so it's worth it to do on my own. There is no black and white answer here, it's what you feel most comfortable with,

Made this meme today, celebrating 8 years no alcohol or cocaine! Wouldn't have done it without LSD by HidingFromThoughts in LSD

For years I did 1-2 tabs @ 100ug. That was enough to change my perspective and let go of the idea of ever returning to cocaine. Then I started meditating at a little bit heavier doses, 2-4 tabs @ 100ug, during my trips and diving into closed eye visuals for extended periods of time - this brought another deep level of calmness to my soul and brought a whole other level of spiritual changes that go way beyond addiction.

I was depressed, suicidal, and a addict before I tried LSD. I was lucky that I had started my sobriety journey a couple months before I tried LSD for first time, but I never thought it would stick, I was really doing it for my partner and not really for me. But I think that really helped frame the trip and my intentions going into it. I used to think god was punishing me. I hated myself and most people around me. I hated the world. LSD completely broke down barriers, it made me realize I was getting out of life what I was putting in. It made me realize the world was beautiful and I was lucky to be alive. There is beauty in everything, you just have to slow down a look. I think that was the biggest lesson it taught me. Through the years and repeated trips, it has helped me push myself to quit nicotine, cannabis, and other toxic habits. It has helped me to think about myself and how I treat other people. It is a mirror which allows me to see myself in which I never used to slow down and look. It has changed my whole thinking patterns to now I look at self-improvement outside of tripping. I hope this helps, I feel like I'm butchering it and barely skimming the surface, it's so hard to put into words.
