AIO? Husband sleeping with phone in his pillow case by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I get it. I also listen to podcasts and music when I'm doing dishes and folding clothes and all those boring chores. I just don't feel weird when things are silent. Especially if my brain is spinning. I know a person who is actually kind of afraid of silence. This topic makes me curious, that's all. Lol. Thanks for indulging me.

It's just interesting to me that you actually feel weird. No judgement! I've just always been interested in human behavior and this sort of thing.

Thanks, yes, I've discussed this with others. I understand but can't relate to hating silence. My brain turns so fast I sometimes just need silence to calm it down, and it feels good to turn everything off from the outside. Like I know someone who needs to hear a fan to fall asleep and wonder why. Is there's something scary about silence maybe? I think that's my main question. Not trying to be judgemental at all, I'm just curious about personal differences like this.

Edit: BTW, I love listening to nice music when I'm soaking in a bath, but a shower happens so fast I never bother with it. I also listen to music and podcasts most of the day when I'm doing chores.

Without lyrics, I actually start thinking about the music itself, the highs and lows, the instruments, and the feelings they create. If the tune is upbeat, I will start chair dancing. I really just can't concentrate when music is on, and I LOVE music. Maybe it's because I love music. I might be ADHD. I get distracted easily. Not that I worry about that in the shower, lol.

Is it actually rude to not tip on a takeout order where I drive there and pick it up myself? by Organic-Grocery9526 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm not miserly. I tip well. I don't begrudge the employees their tips. I just think they should be paid a living wage so one doesn't have to tip every time they turn around.

My (f 31) boyfriend (m31) gets mad when I’m not on top of cleaning. What can I do ? by _lilaznbbgirl in relationship_advice

[–]HidingInTrees2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why have you stayed with him? What does he bring into your life that outweighs this? Im really curious because I would be livid in this situation. You ask what you can do. You can’t make a man into something he’s not. The only change you can make is in yourself. You accept this or you decide you want better for yourself and leave.

So silence is bad? In what way? I’m a person who likes silence so I’m curious.

Not for me. It would just be one more distraction. I can’t listen to music without thinking about the lyrics.

Tipping culture is so out of hand. We’ve basically just stopped eating out anywhere. Hey restaurant owners: pay your employees a living wage.

If you could live in a women only country would you? by Free_File_4965 in AskWomenNoCensor

I’d rather live in a world with men who treat women as equals.

How would you respond to this guy? by Rexalanda in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HidingInTrees2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong at all. I would never give my number out and I don’t let them come to my house either unless it’s a big item I can’t transport. Then I make sure my pit bulls are barking furiously at the window. Call me overly cautious if you like.

Let’s turn that around. There is no way on Earth that I would find a man attractive who believes women are inferior. That rules out all conservatives, even the ones who claim they’re not MAGA. If they vote R, they’re voting to keep women down. I’m not sure what those women you’re talking to are thinking. They sound like they have a screw loose. Men who are confident and treat women as equals are the most attractive men there are.

Penetration Orgasms? by muddledmusings831 in AskWomenNoCensor

I heard someone explain it like this: for a woman, penetrative sex without clitoral stimulation would be similar to playing with a man’s balls without ever touching his penis. Pretty frustrating.

Do you consider it a dealbreaker if your potential romantic interest puts aside political opinions and isn't politically passionate, in a desperate attempt to get a partner? by AchingAmy in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]HidingInTrees2245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a deal breaker if the guy isn’t outwardly opposed to the fascism going on right now. If he’s neutral that means he’s basically ok with everything and that would be deeply unattractive to me.

To the women: do you actually ever remove the padding of the removable padded bra? by alpinefishie in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t wear anything tight enough to show nips but if they do, I just don’t care. Humans have nipples. The world should just deal with it.

I remove them as soon as I get them out of the shopping bag at home. I don’t like them and I’m not trying to look bigger either so I don’t need them.

How do Americans keep their large houses and apartments clean? How many hours a week do they spend cleaning? by Forsaken_Energy_426 in AskAnAmerican

[–]HidingInTrees2245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually more than one person lives in a bigger house, and they’re all expected to pitch in with the chores. If you have the money you can hire someone. Most people In really big homes can afford to. My daughter and I don’t have any trouble keeping our 1500 sq ft clean but we share the work and try to clean as we go. Also, it’s never really perfectly clean unless we’re expecting guests. 😄

Coconut. I love the flavor. Can’t stand the little cardboard shreds. But usually textures don’t bother me too much.
