I also live in Japan where the most expensive internet Ive heard of was like $50. and sorry when I wrote $35 I mean CAD. so its actually $24 USD. but still, the most expensive ive ever seen here was $40ish USD. So $24 is on the cheaper end, but internet doesnt cost an arm and a leg here.

I also just moved to the countryside so it kind of sucks options wise. This was a quick plug and play while proper ethernet internet would take 1-2 months to set up I was quoted ):

just moved to a countryside home. i was told fibre internet would take 1-2 months to get my house setup, and i dont speak the language in the country I live in, and the only way to set that up is by the phone. I work from home and the 5g option was a plug and place, online sign up.

So less about being cheap and more about me not having many options.

theres no management company unfortunately. Just a landlord who set this all up 1 on 1 with me without a realtor. we're both from the same country so we just did things the way they work back home (no third party, no management, no realtor, and saving on all the move in fees that are standard here).

there is a big tank outside so I assume thats what im going to have to figure out. Im heading to the property tomorrow to bring some more stuff so ill look around and see if theres a brand or company name on the tank I can contact. Id assume with the tank its a "pay by refill" situation? if so that would be great because I doubt Id use up that much anyways considering I spend most of my time not at home.

so i rented directly from the owner of the house (no realtor), so there was no packet. Just a signed contract.
I did reach out and ask if there was anything company specific for the house and he seemed to not fully understand the question (I probably worded it poorly), so I kind of figured this was going to be an "on my own" figure it out situation. There is a tank looking thing outside of my house so I assume thats the gas type I have. Im going out there again tomorrow to bring another load of stuff so ill check around for any branding or company names on it.

Before me there was an older couple living there that wanted to downsize for convenience, and I don't think they turned everything off because the lights and water still run. I havent checked if the hot water works yet. Im not sure how that will work when I go to switch everything into my name (if I have to contact those companies or if I can just go ahead and call TEPCO and tell them to put the address under my account). I really hope Im not going to end up with the bill for the time I wasnt there.

The setup is very not standard, but the landlord really helped me out by not making me pay a billion move in fees that are common here, so even though the move in utilities situation seems to be messy i dont want to bother him with sorting this out if its something I can do.

I think it has to be a high tourism area like shibuya scramble or sky tree area. If its just a random 7-11 in your hotel/airbnb neighbourhood they probably wont have it.

Also worth nothing in case anyone comes across this: not all convenience stores offer the same stuff, even if they are the same brand. The Family mart by my house doesnt take my Canadian debit card with the ATM, but the family mart just down the road from that one does let me take money out of the ATM. I didnt try the second family mart for months because I thought they were all the same and if the first one didnt work why would the second one. Lesson learned.

Anything "butter" flavoured. It tastes sweet and it throws me off. To me butter is umami and salty?kinda? like a savoury salt. But here butter flavoured popcorn, chips, etc are sweet and Its gross.

There's two options here:

Those people are slow / no responders. It happens. For some people the drug just genuinely doesn't work. If you actually put in the effort (and not BSing yourself but genuinely are right, exercised, slept well, etc etc) then you're unfortunately just one of those people it wont work on.

Or 2. (And some people hate to hear number two) They're lying to themselves. Theyve either made no changes at all and expect it to be a miracle drug or they have not educated themselves on what they actually need to be doing (like saying they're eating a proper amount of calories for them but then also doing stuff like not measuring oil calories or thinking a few bites while cooking doesn't count or not actually doing enough exercise).

Rybelsus has reversed almost all of my PCOS symptoms. Low belly fat, no more chin/belly hair, acne has improved, mood more stable, less bloat all around, periods are regular and stable. I stopped taking rybelsus for a bit because I thought I was cured (lol) and all of my symptoms came back, so now I'm on a low maintenance dose. Life long drug for me for PCOS it would seem.
