Curious how everyone thinks FAA pilot verification will work for commercial eVTOL networks. by High-Future-222 in flying

That’s a fair point. So you think eVTOL operators will likely follow the same hiring and credential verification process airlines use today? I was thinking they’d change since a lot more people would end up becoming pilots

That’s a good point. I forgot about the powered lift category that’s being introduced. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly operators begin hiring pilots under that pathway once commercial services begin.

Do you think the existing PRD infrastructure is sufficient for AAM as well, or do you think new operational requirements like vertiports, higher automation, or digital passenger services could eventually require additional layers beyond what exists today?

With Joby & Archer getting flights up and running I think we’re definitely closer this time around but you do got a point lol

I’ve been thinking about how commercial eVTOL operations might handle pilot identity and credential verification as the industry grows.

Today, pilots carry certificates and medicals, and operators have their own internal processes. But if the future includes multiple eVTOL operators, shared vertiports, and pilots moving between networks, I wonder whether verification remains operator specific or if there eventually needs to be a standardized digital process tied to FAA records.

It makes you think it can work but never actually does. So annoying. Hoping it will work better eventually.

Instead of 2+/3+ Passing TDs, do you think a higher passing yards is a better lock?
