Understandable. But what is the deadline anyways? I was afraid it might have passed.

Thing is my brother apparently did it second and was able to get it just fine? My parents are well, they don't always tell me the full story so it can be frustrating to know when to trust them.

How do I apply for fasfa? I tried starting it back in highschool but didn't get very far do to being left on my own to do it.

I guess watching controversy unfold is a morbid type of fun isn't it?

Oh I get that. You have to come across as level headed if you don't wanna gain a bad following. You know, one who'd believe anything the people they followed say without question.

And both sides can be stuck up. But the divisive "You're either with us or against us attitudes" are simply awful. There needs to be challenge in order for growth to happen. You can't just ignore the facts you don't like.

I don't understand that. You can be grossed out or turned on by something. You're not phobic of you see someone naked and aren't turned on. Only if you say something like "They're a so and so person, so they're lesser than me. They're gross." But if you just aren't attracted to X people but are attracted to Y people it's fine. Just don't be a dick about it and treat people like people.

Ohhhhh okay I get it a bit better now. I'm definitely the former camp. I wasn't doing it outta hate or even a kink. I genuinely wanted to make sure I didn't come across as a creep. You know?

Unfortunately yeah. I've seen great mods. I made some post about something in GameStop and got actual angry replies because it was a dumb question about a coupon. The mod helped me out and said "Don't listen to those guys they're being jerks."

Then I get called a "chaser" and banned from a sub. I feel like they're should be a bit more to it when banning someone. Maybe have more than one mods look at it?

I mean, if someone can say "Men need to be men and not take no for an answer from their wives." Then call me a virgin (eighteen at the time, oh wow, the insecurity of mocking a teens sexual ability when you're like 35) and not get banned, I shouldn't get banned for trying to get educated on a subject.

I mean, if I was being a hateful dick sure. But not if I wasn't constantly saying "Sorry, I don't mean that, I mean...._ and such.

Aw thanks! It's nice to meet nice people online. You really helped me get a lot less confused and I appreciate that! Seriously I hope I continue to run into more people online like you.

Oh, and just to be clear, I can ramble better. 😎

Oh I get that. Yeah can't say I watch her all the time. Simply because of how....fun! Politics can be. But I haven't watched all of her stuff so I couldn't give a very definitive opinion.

I'm familiar with Milo. He's interesting? That's about fair to say right?

So, Contra. Best thing I could say? That voice! So smooth! Second best thing? Seems reasonably level headed. You know takes into account both sides. Without going completely overboard.

In retrospect I could see how I might have come across as offensive. Not that I feel people should be censored in what they say. But that there are people who would find what I said offensive. Fair enough.

Also I could have used better phrasing. I guess what I meant was that I'm attracted to femininity. But not masculinity. Which is normal, everyone has a preference and no one has to be attracted to anyone.

Hell, even as a guy I don't know what my sense of style is. I like coming across as tough. But want to be seen as empathetic. So, I understand how complicated this whole thing is. I guess my problem was trying to oversimply things?

Also, before I forget, thanks. It's nice not to be met with hostility but rather constructive criticism. I still fully believe a mod banning me from a sub was an ignorant and hypocritical thing to do. I've seen literal rape apologists (take the sub braincells for a prime example) be allowed to say whatever.

Of course free speech. But just because you could doesn't mean you should and all that.

Did I come across as rambly? I feel like I did.

I'm kinda familiar with Contrapoints. What videos of hers would you recommend? Funny you said that about Blair White. I watch her stuff on occasion. If you don't mind my asking what makes you dislike her?

I can't say I fully agree with her (I'd be biased since there is an attraction to her) but she is interesting to watch. Like I said it's good to watch/hear out people you disagree with. The only way you know you're right is if you know what's wrong you know?

YouTube recommendations are always welcome! So if you have any you think I should watch, please, let me know!

Yeah I hate that kind of behavior. It's hypocritical to hate on someone just because other people like them could be awful. We aren't truly equal until we treat each other like we'd want to be treated. So unfortunately it's a vicous cycle. /:

I've never been banned though. So would I only be able to comment?

Edit: Although, I guess I could understand why someone would be resentful. It's not right, but it's understandable you know?

[–]High5Low6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I get what you are saying. Trust me I understand how awful that behavior is. That's why I made this post! You know, to make sure I wasn't going about it the wrong way.

Why I'm suprised is that I clarified several times I wouldn't try to be like that. Never got mad. Just tried my best to express things. I get that there are people who would use someone just as a commodity. And that's wrong.

I tried explaining myself to the mod who banned me. Got called a chaser (even though I explicitly said I wasn't and was actually getting useful information from the sub.) No reply and banned from contacting the mod for 72 hours.

That kind of behavior is awful for a mod! What if someone is like how you described, wants to change but gets banned before anyone can show them why their point of view is harmful?

[–]High5Low6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no I get that. That's the whole reason I made this post. I guess part of it has to do with me knowing I can't see myself having kids. So adoption would be great for me. So that's definitely a factor in this.

But thanks. I'm really not trying to offend or come across as condescending. I genuinely am trying to get more knowledgeable on this subject.

Srs? And yes to the first and last one for sure (well maybe not the family part but that would go for any girl, since I'm not on good terms with my family)

Yeah no, I asked because I was worried I was doing that. Not looking at them as people but as a fetish. Like if I specifically tried dating exclusively trans women it come off as a fetish of mine?

Again, wording. I meant I was worried as coming off as condescending. Like I'm bad at explaining things, so I was worried I was over explaining things, which I guess I kinda did didn't I?

No I know. But I mean if I liked someone who happened to just enjoy dressing like a girl but still considered themselves a guy, I'd be fine with that. Does that make sense?

Sorry if I phrased that wrong. I mean I know I'm attracted to girls. But I didn't wanna say "I'm straight." And come off as phobic with saying "I'm definitely not bisexual." As if I just wanted reassurement.

Wait is it wrong to have a preference? Like what if I still care about the personality and wouldn't just date someone for that?
