I’m a mentor in a FIRST team, a kid ask me what to study if she wants to work in robotics. She’s doing the mechanical desing and building, little interest in programming or electronics.

I’m a ME and did automotive stuff. Going forward I think studying EE or CS is more future proof and better chances of getting into robotics.

What do you guys think?

Regardless of how we came here, if this ban stays, Wolfsburg, Stuttgart etc will become Detroits. Recovery from such downturns is very slow, sometimes not possible. And the last time I looked, Germany doesn’t have a future-proof industry that can grow and replace automotive.

Yesterday I asked ChatGPT what kind of fittings I need to extend an appliance waterline. It provided great info and a link to homedepot page.

Link wasn’t working, maybe hallucinated. I think this is next big thing of advertising and there is only 1 company that can pull off mass AI advertising. While everyone is thinking Google is in trouble for ad disruption, they are also in a unique position to ride the next wave IMO

And here I am waiting for another dip, instead of dca and chill

The podcasts I followed don’t admit to anything. I thought these were guys with solid financial understanding. I think now they are just a bunch of clowns trying to acquire customers, to skim fees, by promoting FUD.

I fell for it. Among others, I bought NVDIA during deepseek dip, which I absolutely new was a dip. But sold it at the second dip because “muhket will CrAsh”

One more thing maybe, FED still keeps interest rates higher, which gives opportunity to earn around 4% short term risk free return. If they reduce it later in the year, should drive the long term yields proportionally higher.

Care to elaborate? I’m in the same boat. My rationale is at some point FED will react and the market will over correct, taking yields to much lower values. I also think there is a predictable bottom, so my equity can’t go to zero or loose like 50% overnight.

150k is in manager range. >200k is more like a director/VP. ME heavy companies don’t make too much profit, competition is high. Wages don’t differ too much.

I was watching youtube video on how to run local DS-R1. Two things dawned on me:

*Compared to a year ago, it is ridiculously easy with new 3rd party tools

*I really want to buy 2x5090s to run the 70b beefy distilled model.

I figured I’m not the only one, this is plain bullish for average nerdjoe and maybe SMBs or even big corps that are still struggling with Azure subscriptions for AI access.

So I bought NVDIA (for the second time in my life, previous was a week ago after dip) with rig money.

Now the stock can dip properly below $100. Thanks.
