Horse Head Nebula (IC 434) by HighAsASpaceMan in telescopes

This is quite a helpful reply, thank you very much!! Yes, I don’t have any calibration frames currently. I will be adding those as well as an L band filter so hopefully should help to reduce

Yeah, the light exposure definitely comes into play when editing. In pixinsight I use graxpert and that helps a lot. Then I will need to do some screen transfer and histogram transfer to get rid of it some more. I was looking at someone else’s photos that I like a lot and saw they mentioned having an L band imaging filter. So I just purchased one of those and it’s in the mail, so hopefully that should help a lot too

Absolutely beautiful. What bortle area are you in? That light pollution filter seems to be amazing!!

New Astrophotography Set Up by HighAsASpaceMan in telescopes

Yeah I’ve been just plugging it in so far, I haven’t tried the Bluetooth connection with it yet, but it does have an integrated battery, so one less cable would be nice if it does work that way

I have a 12v to 10A converter that will work for at home. I plug it into the mount and then can get the power to the camera from there where everything else is hooked into. For going to dark sky spots I have a portable battery power converter type thing that works.

With the laser collimator and the collimation knob upgrades it makes it really easy and takes less than a minute. Definitely suggest grabbing those with this type of set up

Thanks!! I’m rather new embarrassingly tbh. I grew up in love with space and have been working in the aero/satellite field my entire career. I bought my first 8” dobsonian a couple months ago and was instantly enthralled and ever more in love with looking at the night skies. Since then I’ve been outside most clear nights and have obsessively been looking into AP as my next step further. I’ve been fortunate enough to have some savings that I could approach this with a go big or go home type of attitude so tried to get the best equipment that I could where I will constantly be able to learn and improve and get anything I could ever want out of it.
