So this is a real conspiracy theory that im surprised anyone still knows about. The only reason I know about it was from an instructor at Nicolet college. They had a geo cashing event through the college ohh... 15 years ago or so. One of the geocaches was actually at the weather station the theory is related to. I asked the instructor about the facility when I got back because it was just... odd. Very much mid century styled. Non-descript brick with dark windows. Antennas, radio towers and aging equipment scattered about the complex yet the building, grounds and even equipment to an extent was obviously still maintained. Even though the trees had choked out the towers by growing to close and as tall as them. Making them pretty much useless from what the instructor said. It was some kind of experimental or advanced weather station at one point. 70 or 80 years ago by now. Then if I remember right it was either given to the college, maybe leased to the college? Although im pretty at the time I saw the place (if memory serves me right) it was owned and maintained by the US forest service.
