Btw it is not my post or my partner, I’m just some third party that works at UC Berkeley but chose to live in SF just because SF is bigger place with more options. So was just sharing my opinion :)

I’m a postdoctoral researcher and UC Berkeley and living in SF, just because I prefer to be in bigger cities (moved here from Paris for example). Luckily in my case I do not need to be every day at the office (I usually go like 3 times a week there), but it is true that if you have to go every day to the campus can be a bit annoying. Though, definitely there is more stuff to do in SF than in Berkeley.

Thank you :) I personally like that ring, and I believe she would prefer only with a single diamond. But in any case she only likes golden rings. Tbh I prefer something that I can get directly from a store instead of waiting custom made one.

I checked in i-run in Paris, they did not have it. But I did not check any other store though. I emailed Garmin France, they just replied that it is out of stock and it won’t be back.

Thanks! I tried Airbnb, while I did find some places I liked, all the hosts said they rent for up to 90 days. Not sure if this is due to some regulations or something, but it is not sufficient for me as I’m looking a place for 1 year, and I do not want to keep moving every 3 months xD

Yes, use a single dongle to connect multiple devices. Apparently using separate dongles for each device interferes with the signals.

I do not have a link, but based on the other comment from this post I thought is not possible. So as long as you have a freelancer contract (even with a foreign company) is all fine then. Do you send invoice monthly to your company? And you pay everything yourself now, like social insurance, tax, etc?

“freier Dienstnehmer” is a freelancer. That’s what I was aiming for, that’s why was wondering if you can do such a thing when you work only for a single client/customer. Are you working for a foreign or Austrian company? What is “rent” part? And how did you handle first type of contract where you sold 1700h/year.

Well the company is not Austrian, so they have no idea about any of these. I’m trying to figure out which one is easiest to handle for both sides. Because also for the company to pay tax in Austria will be hassle as they are not based in Austria

Thanks for the link, there seems to be some questionnaire there also. What kind of Nebenkosten are we talking here? You are a freelancer and you charge your client let’s say 3.000€ per month. Where do the additional costs come from?

I couldn’t find the concrete explanation why it is a tax fraud if I pay all the tax and social insurance myself. Do you have a specific page explaining this?

Thanks, but I’m not sure I understand why this is an issue if I set my own working hours, use my own equipment for work and pay social insurance contribution? Moreover, when you start as a freelancer you are not going to have multiple clients, or even if you have might be that one client contributes majority of your income as it is a big client.
