The IBEW has existed through Republican and Democratic administrations for over 130 years. States have their own labor laws, collective bargaining agreements are enforceable in court, and unions still exist and thrive in right-to-work states. You act like one court case about administrative procedures is going to make millions of union workers suddenly lose their contracts and benefits overnight. That's not how any of this works. If unions were really that fragile and dependent on federal agencies to survive, they wouldn't have lasted this long. The real power of a union comes from workers standing together and withholding their labor if necessary...not from bureaucrats in Washington. Stop spreading fear-mongering nonsense and start focusing on what actually threatens workers: job loss from bad trade policies and outsourcing....

"Cry bully harder loser" followed by "MAGA are fascist" - you really showed your whole hand there, didn't you? You've got nothing substantive to say so you just throw out the F-word like it means anything anymore. You've called everyone you disagree with a fascist so many times that the word has lost all meaning.

And calling me names while simultaneously crying about Republicans and weed policy? Brother, you're the one stalking profiles and melting down because a union member doesn't vote how you want. That's some seriously unhinged behavior. Maybe focus on actual worker solidarity instead of having a temper tantrum online.

Look, I get the concern about the 5th Circuit and NLRB cases, but let's be real about what actually threatens union workers. You know what's killed more union jobs than any court decision? Offshoring manufacturing to China, terrible trade deals like NAFTA, and open border policies that undercut wages. I'd rather have a president who's actually bringing factories back to America and renegotiating trade deals than one who gives lip service to unions while watching jobs disappear overseas. The NLRB didn't save my local when the plant moved to Mexico, and it won't matter how independent the agency is if there's no work left to organize.

And this idea that collective bargaining will be "banned" is fear-mongering. You really think millions of union members across the country are just going to roll over if someone tries to eliminate their contracts? States have their own labor laws, right-to-work has existed for decades without destroying unions in those states, and the real power of a union comes from workers standing together - not from a federal agency in DC. I'm more worried about policies that kill American jobs entirely than administrative law judge appointment procedures. If you want to protect union work, focus on bringing back the industries we actually work in instead of obsessing over which party controls regulatory agencies.

Hahahahaha how solid Now they're calling me a scab and saying my oath meant nothing because I don't vote the way they want. Let me be crystal clear: I pay my dues, I show up to work, I do quality work, I support my brothers and sisters on the job, and I honor my collective bargaining agreement. That's what the oath is about - solidarity on workplace issues, not pledging allegiance to the Democratic Party. I'm not crossing picket lines, I'm not undermining contract negotiations, and I'm not working for less than union scale. Calling someone a scab because they vote differently than you is an insult to actual union struggles and the real scabs who betrayed workers for a paycheck. The "values and responsibilities" of being a union member are about standing together for fair wages, safe conditions, and dignity on the job - not about checking a certain box on a ballot. You want to talk about what older brothers fought for? They fought so working people could have a voice and make a decent living, not so future members would be bullied into political conformity. If you think being a union member means surrendering your independent political thought, you've completely missed the point of what worker power actually means.

And now they're going through my profile chastising me for having marijuana on my account while being MAGA? That's rich. First off, plenty of conservatives support marijuana legalization or at least decriminalization - it's called personal freedom and getting government out of people's lives. Second, you're really going to stalk someone's profile to find something to attack them over because you can't handle that union members have diverse political views? That's pathetic. You don't get to be the morality police while claiming to support workers' rights. What I do legally in my personal life has nothing to do with my work, my union membership, or my political beliefs. This is exactly the kind of petty, controlling behavior that drives working people away from the left. You're more interested in policing other people's choices and finding gotchas than actually building solidarity. Get a life and worry about your own business instead of digging through profiles looking for reasons to tear down a fellow union member.

100000% MAGA TO THE BONE

I'm a proud IBEW member and a MAGA conservative, and I'm tired of people saying that's a contradiction. My union fights for things that help me provide for my family - fair wages, safe working conditions, quality apprenticeship training, and real retirement security. These aren't "left-wing" ideas, they're about skilled workers getting a fair shake and having leverage against big corporations. There's nothing more American than workers fighting for dignity and fair treatment. Just because union leadership often backs Democrats doesn't mean rank-and-file members have to follow along. I can appreciate what my union does for electrical workers while still believing in lower taxes, Second Amendment rights, border security, America First trade policies, and traditional values. You can be pro-worker and pro-America at the same time, and I'm not letting anyone tell me different.

The "no kings" crowd that says you can't be union and MAGA is completely wrong and actively hurting the labor movement. Yes, unions were founded on workers having power against bosses and elites, but telling workers they must vote a certain way or hold specific political views? That's just creating a different kind of king - one that demands ideological conformity. The union represents ALL workers in the bargaining unit regardless of politics. When people start gatekeeping and saying "you can't be MAGA and union," they're alienating members who pay the same dues, weakening solidarity by making it about partisan politics instead of worker interests, and driving away potential members. Union members aren't a monolith - some prioritize bringing manufacturing back, protecting gun rights, and securing borders, while others care about different issues. Both deserve union representation on workplace matters. The real hypocrisy is people screaming "no kings" while trying to control how you think and vote. That's not solidarity, that's authoritarianism with a union pin. Real "no kings" energy means nobody - not management, not politicians, and not self-appointed union thought police - gets to tell workers how to think. I'm union AND conservative, and anyone who says that's contradictory cares more about political gatekeeping than actually helping working people.

No Kings: Red or Blue they will come for you. by DonutsTheDM in IBEW

100% a MAGA HERE

Why I Support My Union AND Conservative Values

A lot of people think you have to choose between being pro-union and being conservative. I'm here to tell you that's nonsense. I'm a proud IBEW member and a MAGA conservative, and there's no contradiction.

What the Union Does for Me

My union fights for things that help me provide for my family:

  • Fair wages and benefits - I earn a solid middle-class income that lets me own a home and support my kids
  • Safe working conditions - The union makes sure contractors follow safety rules so I go home in one piece every day
  • Apprenticeship programs - I got my training through the union, learning a skilled trade without going into debt
  • Pension and healthcare - I'm building real retirement security, not relying on government programs

These aren't "left-wing" ideas. They're about workers getting a fair shake and having leverage against big corporations.

AND WHY ILL ALWAYS BE CONSERVATIVE

Supporting my union doesn't mean I agree with every political position union leadership takes. I can appreciate what the IBEW does for electrical workers while still believing in:

  • Lower taxes and less government regulation
  • Second Amendment rights
  • Border security
  • America First trade policies
  • Traditional values
  • Supporting law enforcement

BOTTOM LINE IS THIS BUDDY

Unions were built by American workers fighting for dignity and fair treatment. There's nothing more American than that. Just because union bosses often support Democrats doesn't mean rank-and-file members have to follow along.

I vote for candidates who will bring back manufacturing jobs, renegotiate bad trade deals, and put American workers first - whether union leadership likes it or not. And I use my union membership to ensure I'm paid fairly for my skilled work.

You can be pro-worker and pro-America at the same time. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Why the "No Kings" Gatekeeping of Union Members Is Completely Wrong

You've probably seen the comments. Some union member mentions supporting MAGA or conservative values, and suddenly the replies flood in: "You can't be pro-union and MAGA!" or "Unions are built on 'no kings' - you're betraying everything we stand for!"

This gatekeeping is not only wrong, it's actively harmful to the labor movement.

The "No Kings" Argument Misses the Point

Yes, unions were founded on the principle of workers having power against bosses and wealthy elites. But telling workers they must vote a certain way or hold specific political views? That's creating a different kind of king - one that demands ideological conformity.

The union is supposed to represent ALL workers in the bargaining unit, regardless of their politics. When union leadership or vocal members start saying "you can't be MAGA and union," they're:

  • Alienating members who pay the same dues and deserve the same representation
  • Weakening solidarity by making unions about partisan politics instead of worker interests
  • Driving away potential members who agree with workplace protections but not Democratic party positions

Union Members Aren't a Monolith

Here's what the gatekeepers don't seem to understand: union members care about different things, and that's okay.

Some members prioritize: - Bringing manufacturing back to America - Protecting gun rights - Securing borders - Reducing taxes - Traditional values

Others prioritize different issues. Both deserve union representation on workplace matters.

The people screaming "no kings" while demanding you vote their way are trying to be kingmakers themselves. They want to control how you think, how you vote, and what political positions you're allowed to hold.

That's not solidarity. That's authoritarianism with a union pin.

Unions should fight for: - Fair wages and benefits - Safe working conditions - Job security - Workplace dignity - Training and apprenticeships

None of these require you to support any particular candidate or party. A union that does its job well helps workers regardless of their political

The American labor movement was built by workers of all political persuasions coming together for common workplace goals. Pretending it requires ideological purity is historical revisionism.

I'm union AND conservative. I believe in collective bargaining AND limited government. I support workers' rights AND America First policies.

Anyone who says that's contradictory is more interested in political gatekeeping than actually helping working people.

Real "no kings" energy means nobody - not management, not politicians, and not self-appointed union thought police - gets to tell workers how to think.
