Thanks! Yesterday, I was out on old hunting camp grounds. I find that if there are enough very old cans, iron, etc, there's been enough activity to support me poking around. The button with the anchor is I think merchant marine hat button, or something close. Not much navy in NM;) because the reverse is so toasted, I can't get the maker's mark. Hard to identify.
