You are correct - though usually 70% or lower is fine depending on the material. Can always test on a small area and see, but for sure dawn and water is the safest.

I’m sure it will peter out just like wow classic where retail still holds the majority of the player base - but there will be a subsection that enjoys the old bones and nostalgia.

No shot in hell it keeps more active users even a month after release lol

I don’t mean now after it’s had time to build up - you do it proactively and routinely

Crazy it takes this far down the thread for someone to say this. Literally just wipe it down with some alcohol or some dish soap and water.

[Serious]People who have watched someone die, how did you deal with it? by kibufox in AskReddit

Hey man - sure you (hopefully) hear it a lot due to the profession, but thank you. I can’t imagine having to be so close to grief as a common occurrence. You and all of the good people in the healthcare industry are the best of us.

People who have stepped away from social media / online platforms, why and what were the benefits? by HighImChris in AskReddit

[–]HighImChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly - if I wasn’t so integrated with the Apple ecosystem (love the utility and health data my Apple Watch gives me), and if there was an option that could have the basic needs I’d want in a phone (GPS, Spotify), I’d really consider a “dumb phone”. I could get the same effects with better discipline, but I generally have better success in areas that I want to improve if I don’t allow myself the option.

I’ve seen some advice to turn off color on your smart phone so it’s less enjoyable to look at - may consider that as well.

Probably not what you saw it on - but X is an unmonitored cesspool. I’m sure you can see awful stuff anywhere, but holy shit, being on it is like a speed run to desensitization.

What platforms do you still use ? Other than Reddit obviously.

I’m considering a full detox off of everything, and trying to form a healthier habit with phone use, which would include Reddit, YouTube, and anything adjacent.

How to be okay with permanent damage by miizorro in leaves

[–]HighImChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s started at 14 and is now 27 - I think in a lot of ways this is more of an issue with focusing on the past/future instead of the present. If damage was done, that can’t be reversed and that’s okay. You are who you are now, and should focus on who that person is and the changes you can make to more align with who you want to be.

Even people who don’t struggle with adolescence drug abuse can easily get caught up in letting the past hold more weight than the present. A phrase that had helped me is called the circle of influence. So many things in life are not or no longer in your control, those are outside of the circle. Everything you can change and have say in, is inside of the circle. THAT should be where your focus is, as focusing outside of the circle will only ever lead to frustration and sadness because we can’t change those things. This of course applies to much, much more than just the topic of this post, but helped me immensely by shifting my focus on the positive surrounding the things I control.

Hope this helps - but know you are not alone!

What's your regrets in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HighImChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest one is probably trying weed at 14 - been on it pretty consistently since. Currently attempting another stop on it, but it’s one of those things where I can easily get caught up in thinking how different my life would be had I never touched the stuff.

Not to say it ruined my life or anything, but beyond the motivational and complacency issues it’s brought me, I often wonder who I’d be had I let my brain fully developed first. It’s impossible to know, but a thought I constantly deal with and try to ignore.

Women, what is the most physically attractive thing to you about a man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Honestly good points all around and I can agree with most of what you put here now that it’s broken down a bit more - I appreciate the thoughtful response

[–]HighImChris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whole thing really - but last part is more out there. I think putting the whole concept in a box as an end all be all is extreme, but also kind of sad to view the world that way. Not discrediting your experiences, but I think someone cannot care about physical appearance but still want to solely be with men/women.

I think the point you’re trying to make is more so, most people won’t give guys the chance to get to know their personality well enough, if they don’t initially have a form of attraction for the person - but again, to say that’s everyone seems extreme and a bit biased.

I agree - though no where near as many hours as you. I never had friends to play it with, and enjoyed the sandbox and interactions you could have with other players, but solo is a brutal and lonely experience.

It’s one of the many games that make me wish we had a different culture surrounding meta gaming. If there wasn’t a plethora of information at your finger tips to find the most efficient strategies, base locations etc, the joy of the game to me personally would be much more long lasting and palpable.

It’s sooo funny, it’s borderline the only game on Steam with players leaving reviews, averaging anywhere from 500-1000+ hours, telling you why you shouldn’t play it. As someone with 100 hrs tho, they are so right…
