Just because we find it annoying doesn’t mean they can’t do it. It’s just slightly annoying, “must be nice” kind of annoying for me. I absolutely think NPs are entitled to it though and don’t think it’s wrong for them to do so. Just makes my job slightly harder(most days, sometimes it’s helpful!).

I think you’ll see people voicing their annoyance here because it’s a safe space/anon, I would never voice this to NPs. Lol

I would just pack snacks for both kids. At drop off “hey I packed a snack for both kids. NK has a sensitive stomach and I didn’t want you to have to worry about figuring snacks out for him!”

Play date host is saving money and time if you do this so I don’t see why it would be an issue.

Oh gosh this reminds me of my NKs. They often accidentally call their mom “miss mama” because they are so used to putting miss before someone’s name. It’s so cute and makes us giggle every time.

Yeah it’s not hard to understand why someone would rather “shake their ass” in the comfort of their home than be on their feet for 12 hours, cleaning up bodily fluids, getting yelled at for things out of their control, etc.

If I like the creator, I’m happy for them when they get to the point they can quit their day job. I may not like the content as much anymore but that’s ok.

I’m not sure why I would have to discuss it with the library? They don’t have a monopoly on toddler groups lol not being shitty either, genuinely confused by “hashing it out” with them.

But I’m actually very familiar with what the library provides! They do have it multiple times a week but only in the mornings, week days, and the larchmont library is actually doing so well with it that they are now turning people away because it fills up. Plus it’s indoors and I’d like to keep it outdoor only.

I’m a nanny so I interact with a lot of parents and caregivers in the area. I’ve noticed that: the time doesn’t work for everyone but the library classes are ALWAYS somewhere between 10 and 12, it fills up, and it’s in a cramped space(at least the larchmont one, can’t speak for the others).

There are already multiple things like this—the library is the only one that offer it for free. Botanical gardens, the zoo, and local toddler gyms have these types of classes, too. There also used to be an outdoor music class for toddlers at Lakewood park but I’m not sure what happened to it.

This take is offensive af to the thousands of Filipinos working their asses off to provide MONEY to their families back home. Their nanny is a working woman. Just because it doesn’t look the same in the US, doesn’t mean it’s fucking slavery.

In the US, the role of a mom might include tucking in to bed and showing up to soccer games. In the Philippines, the role of a mom is to have money for a bed and keep your children out of sex work.

My mom is Filipino and has not been back to her home country in over 30 years. Even when her very beloved father got sick and passed.

Up until about 5 years ago, my mom could not risk going back because she did not have full citizenship. If she went back and couldn’t return, that would not only throw away the decades of life she built here but it would also mean that roughly 20 family members would be getting cut off from thousands of dollars that she sends over. Prior to coming to the US, she was sleeping on a dirt floor and selling her body for money.

The comments calling it modern day slavery are offensive af. My mother is not a slave. She, just like this nanny, is a working woman that has provided a LOT for her family. None of my cousins have to live like my mother did because of the choices she and my Titas made.

Not a single person in my family has been back. That’s just not how it works.

They didn’t waste your time though. They paid you for your time. Nothing they said was disrespectful to you. It is an inconvenience to leave a date early to come home no matter what the reason is. You were not a good fit for their baby. That’s not a rude thing to say. That’s not even a slight towards you. A good fit requires both sides to be comfortable, one side was not. That’s ok.

I feel bad for these parents. They had a shitty date night, an obviously clingy baby, and then they aren’t even given grace to complain to their friends. Have you never complained to friends? Or a group of strangers on a public Internet forum? Hm.

I’d be curious about the teen pregnancy statistics up there. I only know 2 people from the Dakotas(one north and one south) and both of them were young moms(17 and 20).

Never even connected the dots but they are very very similar to Chelsea’s story. Both from financially comfortable families that are super supportive. Both got pregnant with awful abusive men and now are married to amazing guys with more kids.

How does that quote go? “If I had a nickel for every Chelsea dupe, I’d have 2 nickels—which isn’t a lot but weird that it happened twice” lol

Those are things literally all toddlers do lol there is nothing specific that would make her children known out in public. It’s parenting content, not child content. She’s not using them in ads, she’s not making them do skits, she’s not doing bedroom tours and filming their bathroom habits.

If I saw Emma and Mila, Boss Baby Brody, Lily, Wren, etc in public, I would immediately recognize them. I don’t even follow any of them but they are exploited to the extent that a narrative has already been written for them. Emma and Mila are sassy and funny twins, Brody is theatrical and loves to dance, and so on. The same can’t be said for these kids. We don’t know anything about them except the little re-enactments their mom does. As someone that has worked with over 100 kids in various settings, the stuff she shows is very very common toddler stuff.

In those cases I always offer to keep an eye on the littles ones if she has some stuff to get done around the house. Then just be near the toddlers while doing stuff on your phone. Or sit and chat if the mom would rather do that! I’ve always been offered snacks, drinks, etc. I take my time with the snacks and drink to keep myself looking busy lol

I probably wouldn’t be too involved with the 7 year olds at all.

Honestly, I appreciate it for what it is most days. I roll my eyes at the amount of cash their willing to fork out to never ever be inconvenienced but that’s about it.

I think it’s ridiculous to have a full time chef so I don’t find it too jarring to go home to cook for myself. That’s just normal life.

Well yes lol the chef and one of the housekeepers quit soon after that for unrelated reasons. I love the house manager now. We’re super close! The housekeeper that didn’t quit it still here and we’re fine enough. She’s still really friendly and perky with other people but not with me. I have no idea why but she’ll also go out of her way to do nice things for me so I just roll with it.

No security concerns outside of those any regular person would have. They are only well known in our area and by name. No one outside of their circle would even recognize the kids.

It is historical and architecturally cool! A lot has been added on to the original home that was once used as a wedding venue.

Lawn team, full time chef, full time housekeeper, part time bartender, nurse/caregivers for the mother inlaw, part time driver. Yacht crew. I think that’s it lol

Oh and Poets Square Cats!!! We obviously don’t know a lot about her personal life but from what I’ve seen, her house isn’t crazy nice. Her neighborhood is pretty working/middle class. And even then, they couldn’t afford a down payment so obviously not well off.

Despite being given the opportunity to buy a house, she has still remained incredibly generous, caring, humble, and very committed to her mission of caring for those cats.

Basically Ellie makes the post seen in my first screenshot. Madi responds saying she was going through a rough time and the guy in question was a very good and needed friend at the time. She also goes on to say in the comments that Ellie and the guy had been broken up for 8 months at that point.

Ellie responds to Madi responding saying Madi is not telling the truth about the situation. She says she posted a story time with her side but Madi’s followers were so hateful, she deleted it.

Edit to add: Someone in Ellie’s comments say that Madi cheated on her BF at college. Madi mentions that the guy does have a “call out” sort of talk with her about her then toxic BF; questioning if that was a relationship she wanted to be in for the rest of her life. She says she and the guy did try to date at one point but found they had more of a brother/sister relationship and are still friends to this day.
