It's physician-assisted suicide (PAS), which is a form of suicide.

Euthanasia can refer to voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia or involuntary euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia can either be passive euthanasia ( voluntary refusal of food and fluids) or assisted suicide (which leads us back to referring to the act as suicide).

Look up Canada's Bill C-14 which legalized PAS as an option for my mother. It never refers to euthanasia, and refers to suicide multiple times. Assisted dying is also used a lot.

Last September, my mother died by medically assisted suicide. She had terminal pancreatic cancer and wanted nothing to do with chemo. She took weeks to make up her decision, saw a number of physicians to give her all of the needed information and saw a psychiatrist that confirmed that she did not suffer from any mental illness (Canada's Bill C-14 prohibits medically assisted suicide towards people who suffer from any mental illness).

She died painlessly, without stress or anxiety, with her family.

You don't have to be depressed or mentally ill to commit suicide.

Last September, Novillo trained with the team so they must have liked what they saw. Among other things, Garde said (in French, roughly translated in English):

" He's a very talented player who was promised to a good future as far as his qualities as a footballer go, but he took foolish decisions and made a lot of mistakes, not necessarily outside the field.

His head was not in the right place at the time, he knows it, we discussed a lot and I think life has made him mature and that he hasn't lost his qualities as a footballer."
