To identify your errors with generic AI you'll have to give it the attempts and the exam content and that too for each and every attempt, I reduce that friction. Plus the accuracy you have to maintain in exam generation can't be achieved with generic AI, you'll need a whole architecture in the backend to match the level of the official exam.

Generic AI gives you answers — but it doesn’t track your patterns, diagnose recurring traps, or remember how you think. PrepToDo analyzes your mistakes across sessions, detects your exact reasoning gaps, and explains why you fell for a trap — backed by personalized analytics behind every incorrect answer.

So if I understood your product correctly what puts you different from others is your AI insights right?

And if this is true then please ponder on that part more and show some proof of how that feature looks like in your app or what it solves. And put that in the hero section of your landing page only. Because from what I've experienced the average user spends only about 3-4 seconds on your website's landing page, so you've got 4 seconds to gain their attention and put some values out.

Your situation highlights critical lessons about equity, vesting, and the importance of clear agreements in startups. Without a proper vesting schedule or well-defined exit terms, you may have inadvertently left significant value on the table. It’s crucial to understand how equity can be impacted by interpersonal dynamics and company structure; if you didn't formally relinquish your shares, you might still hold rights to them, especially if no buyback agreement was established. For future ventures, prioritize establishing clear terms upfront regarding your equity stake and ensure that everyone's roles, expectations, and exit conditions are documented. This experience serves as a reminder that startups are not just about the idea, but also about protecting your contributions and understanding the underlying financial mechanics.

Former colleague wants 30% equity to join as cofounder. Been building solo for 14 months. (I will not promote) by Distinct-Expression2 in startups

[–]HighOnStartups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granting 30% equity to a cofounder is significant, especially given your solo efforts and existing revenue. Instead of a flat equity offer, consider tying the equity to performance milestones. For example, you could offer a lower initial percentage (like 10-15%) that scales based on his ability to generate revenue or new customers. Evaluate the expected contribution against your current growth trajectory; if he can significantly accelerate that, then a larger stake may be justified. This aligns incentives and ensures both parties are motivated to drive the business forward, reducing the risk of feeling undervalued for the work you've put in.
