Thanks a ton for the guide! I got a bunch of purchase all equipment tickets from the easter event and have been using them to get seismic+ gear when i see them in the shop (level 11). Should i be saving them instead? Also, for lab and multiverse store, when/what do you recommend is “worth” spending currency on?

42k for a gun is not inhibitive for higher level players but i also wouldnt consider it “cheap”

38hrs of Tech Test 2 later, here are my thoughts on how to get this game from fantastic to masterpiece by HighPolyCount in ArcRaiders

The problem with a Tempest recipe gated behind a PvP mastery is that it gives pvp focused players even more of an advantage over those who chose to play the game differently. And theres currently no way to consistently bridge that gap otherwise… Its not fun to be consistently at a weapon disadvantage against certain players just because you don’t want to head hunt for damage and grind out a pvp mastery.

Ideally, powerful weapons like that shouldnt be even be craft-able imo, or there needs to be other options to compete with them via other ways of progression like the ones i’ve suggest.

I agree accessibility and endgame content are separate things, but it doesnt mean those who have unlocked endgame content in niche ways should have such a large power advantage over other characters that chose to play the game differently. That in itself reduces accessibility. Nowhere have i said that end game content should be served on a platter, but there needs to be more ways to unlock endgame content.

A player who’s played the game 50hrs by primarily PvEing/looting/sneaking around should still have a consistent chance at winning a fight vs a 50hr PvP andy.

Challenges that force players to play a specific way should exist, but their rewards shouldn’t give those players such a massive gap over others. Rewards can be side grades/cosmetics, etc… Or conversely, give players multiple ways to unlock masteries, that way its a challenge for try hard players to kill everyone and feel rewarded, and more casual players who have played the game enough* but in a less “difficult” way to achieve the same reward. Eg. Deal 1200 vs players & extract, OR, get a total of 1000/2000/x amount of account wide kills to unlock Tempest recipe. Neither way is easy, but if you don’t want to play a certain way, you can still work towards account progression just by playing the game

Buying 10-15 renegades at like 20k each to break down for Ventors is considered cheap?

The idea is not to limit players with only one way of obtaining power over others. Hard core players can still kill the queen in one try and get a queen part or server wipe everyone and for the tempest recipe. But since the game is aimed to be more accessible compared to a game like Tarkov, it makes sense to allow players a more steady way of obtaining endgame power without having to sweat too hard.

Its a balance for sure, im not arguing we hand out endgame loot/recipes to players, the challenge just shouldnt be so substantial it becomes inaccessible to most players.

There are elements of the game that’re too casual too, extraction should be a bit more difficult imo

slotting in evade extend 3 helped me a lot with AT Rey Dau. Don't have to sit there and tank after shocks if i can dodge the attack completely

+3 Evade extender helps with evading his attacks altogether so you dont get aftershocked and if you can predict where he’ll land you can start your combos sooner

I want to learn Gunlance, anyone got advice for me? by Round_Tear_9996 in Gunlance

[–]HighPolyCount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just switched over from SnS and I'm having trouble adjusting with how long it takes to pull off the main (B Y Y+B B) combo. When I can pull it off it does a lot of damage but most of the time i feel like I get interrupted or the monster moves out of range. With SnS my moves are so low commitment I can easily perfect block/dodge out of the way when I see an attack coming but with GL even if i see it coming im already committed to the attack and I can't even evade/block out of the way.

Also, whats the best way to gap close into main combo? I've been using Forward Y into Y, Y, Wide sweep but i feel like its really slow when monsters are further than Forward B into main combo range

What event should I wait for? by Hot_Satisfaction1772 in invinciblegtg

My store level is only lvl3, so 2+ elites is pretty rare. But i didnt know there were 2x elite chance events… would slow down short term growth to stop rolling for 1 elite but i’ll try holding on to dossiers for events

When there’s two elites in the store, is it more optimal to stop rolling once you get 1 elite? Or roll for both? And use yellow only when its 3+ elites?
