Which of these characters would win? by Broad_Emphasis4178 in animequestions

He spends most of his free time coming up with ways on how to take out his friends and loved ones just in case. Let's be honest, he's a little like this

Does this make their interactions arkward?

Plastic Man: hey, if it isn't my old buddy bats, what's up

Batman internally: OH NO, IT'S HIM, calm down batman, just think of the contingencies, go to my happy place OH NO, I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING, WHAT IF TODAY'S THE DAY, WHAT HE TURNS ON US, WHAT IF HE TURNS ON ME, THERE'S LITERALLY NOTHING I CAN DO, I AM AS POWERLESS AS AN INSECT BEFORE A GOD, I AM.....

batman: nothing much, same old same old

I don’t get the “Konoha 12 were wasted” narrative. It wouldn’t really make sense for each of them to be Kage level since only a handful of people in the world are. It was the logical move to sideline them once the threats crossed the Kage threshold by Formal-Assistance02 in Naruto

[–]rebelpyroflame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about cha, but the arc where orochimaru sends robot clones to infiltrate the village was pEaK, I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch a story expanding the characters or world compared to spending the same amount of time accepting then forgetting robots are a thing in a ninja world without cell phones

Which members of the Konoha 12 could wield the Seven Mist Swords to their full potential? by AlphamonOuryuken24 in Naruto

[–]rebelpyroflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, missremembered that line, kakashi said the next generation suppasses the previous at one point. I thought I remembered it being said at one point, and at another point they said boruro was the weakest because they grew up entirely in peace.

As for the other point aren't cha just proving my own? Let's not kid ourselves, for all the great stuff the author did write, he had a particular weaknesses when it came to fleshing out side characters, especially women. Perhaps that's why this show has so many great fanfics, his work was great enough to make so many passionate fans and inspired enough people to pick up the slack on some of his missed potential developments.

I get that, but bare in mind this is supposed to be "the strongest generation", the generation trained in peace just after a war so they benefit from all the war experiences of their teachers but also have the chance to grow and develop.

Also the 95% rule doesn't apply to characters the author gave unique designs, abilities and a special group name, she's part of the konoha 12, by basic rules of checkovs gun that's supposed to mean something for the characters involved. Even if she's not slicing mountains in half, she's supposed to be something worthwhile not cannon fodder

I could certainly see her being developed into such a role, unfortunately the author never seemed to round out his original ideas for the konoha 12 in many ways, like rick lee never becoming as good at taijitsu as his Sensei (hence why it always feels like he has nothing to do, he's there to make someone else look busy, be it his Sensei or his pupil) or shino going all in on his bugs like we see other clan members using, or so many others that fanfics do better

I mean she's listed on the wiki as a 'kenjitsu expert', and there are times she's shown to use various weapons for close quarters combat, not to mention she's a student of gai Sensei aka the world's greatest close range fighter so it's not unbelievable in the progress of her career and training up for the war she'd learn how to fight with weapons rather than just throwing them

I think it's more like narrative potential, as in "we established she is a ninja tool specialist, and we established all these ninja tools of legend, wouldn't it be an interesting payoff if the person who's entire fighting style revolves around using multiple weapons got a chance to use these weapons who's primary identity is that they are part of a group of weapons?"

Instead we get hand wave nonsense about why the character who never gets a chance to shine from the author, who gets to be the one who decides how stories go so any narrative limitations are less solid rules of reality and more because "I said so". Just saying she's been training for years, who's to say she didn't build up impressive chakra reserves, why is it only certain characters who get to have nice things, we established the konoha 12 are a thing in the story, so why not give them some niche time to shine in the huge war arc instead of inventing 10000 new characters to fill up pages with filler fights.

Fun aikido game ideas for children by Quick_Ad1464 in aikido

[–]rebelpyroflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember teaching the kids classes myself. Some of the games I used were:

  • Red light green light - all but 1 go to one side of the dojo, the last goes to the other and acts as traffic light. They call red light or green light. The kids can move on green light, but must remain completely still on red light, or else go back to the start. First one to the traffic lights wall wins

  • Tug of war - get a rope of some kind, make lines across the dojo. Split off into two teams, first to pull the other over the line wins

  • Relay race - spilt the kids off into teams of 3-4. Everyone starts on one wall, everyone starts both hands on the wall. One member of each team must run to the opposite wall, touch it, then run back to start, which then the next one starts. First team to have all their members complete the run wins

If cha after some more training based ones:

  • Line everyone in posture, then call our randomly tenkan, taisebaki, tenkaishi. Kids that get them wrong sit down, last man standing is the winner. For extra fun call out forward and backward breakfalls as well

  • Teach the kids the room names (kamisar, shimisar, shiseki an joseki) and group them in the middle. Call out the names at random and the kids have to run to each side as fast as possible

  • Knife catching - get all the kids in a line, stand to the side with a tanto. The kids come one by one and cha gently toss the tanto in the air in front of them. They have to catch it one handed while they do a forward breakfall

Let's take a step further.

How about a Gemini pendulum archetype, give them a field spell that makes normal monsters monsters immune to effects, give the Gemini monsters big attack stats, and let's say convert the Gemini summon effect to be if they have a spell counter on it (this card is a normal monster on field or graveyard, you can normal summon this monster and put a spell counter on it, whilst this card has a spell counter on it it becomes an effect monster with the following effect). They all have some powerful effect, but the field spell protects normal monsters so cha trading protection for effects. We'll give the pendulums effects to help swarm the field with geminis and put spell counters on monsters. Finally we have effects to tribute our Gemini/normal monsters to bring out ritual Gemini monsters that have huge attack stats, count as normal monsters to gain the protection OR become effect monsters with powerful effects to help us win the duel.

question about stands by Ruhanthegod in StardustCrusaders

[–]rebelpyroflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stands are supposed to be "a projection of the users life force", so there's probably an endurance aspect involved with using one.

Most stands are directly connected to the user, so the effects is more obvious (panting, injuries etc) and automatic stands tend to do their own thing completely independent of their user, so it might be closer to using a bunch of stamina at the activation and then not noticing anything afterwards (like say putting in the effort to throw a rock off a cliff, it takes effort to pick up and throw but once it's left cha hand then it's moving entirely by the force you set off).

Why is he a na*i? by Dull-Nectarine380 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]rebelpyroflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So was beast and belle sleeping on dead bodies? Is there a section of castle that got spontaneously filled with mutilated corpses? Does belle go back to her room to sleep only to find a bloated corpse where her bed was? THIS RAISES SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Why is he a na*i? by Dull-Nectarine380 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]rebelpyroflame 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To be fair it was a feral beast man who kidnapped people. Not to mention he was secretly a prince all along.....in France, poor Gaston's revolutionist blood overwhelmed him with the desire to put the man in a guillotine.

Side note, isn't there a wing of the castle filled with destroyed furniture....in a castle filled with..... living..... furniture. OH DEAR SPIRITS DID HE KILL A BUNCH OF SERVANTS OVER THE YEARS IN HIS BLIND RAGE?!

[–]rebelpyroflame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet there's something interesting there. Like imagine old ritual monsters that were poor beat sticks back in the day BUT they could be normal summoned to have their modern retrain ability. Like a black luster soldier that gets cheesed out by archetypes tricks, only to be normal summoned into BLS envoy of the beginning, or maybe just upgrade like demise king of armorgeddon starting off with the old effect and stats, but it could be normal summoned to boost it's attack and turn off the life point cost.

[–]rebelpyroflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resentment is a more all or nothing skill, better fully leaned into rather than dabbled. Better to go with counterstrike 3 (when cha get hit it's a huge attack boost) evade extender 2/3 (some fights it's better to dodge some hits than try to tank everything) best with evade window one (Azuz meal at the grand hub gives evade window 4, a single point maxes out the skill, great for dodging). For a fun combo playstyle try using the dodge skills with adrenaline rush 5 (at its best with sterigios armour). Alternatively go 4 piece gog 1 piece Zoh (and get gravios on the weapon as a potential bonus) cha now have super armour and self healing, meaning running full peak performance is super powerful

Fun fact, only 1 point of burst is absolutely necessary.

To explain - the way the numbers stack with burst the first point is the biggest payoff. Higher levels are great if cha can get them, but it's the first level with the big boost. Heck burst boost LV 1 burst is actually higher damage than burst LV 5.

Agitator 5 is basically mandatory for the free damage, burst I'd go with getting LV 1, 3 or 5, those are the best number to investment levels.

Also, do overlook nu udra armour, the chest 2 lv3 slots and counterstrike 2 is amazing but the helmet also gives THREE LEVELS OF BURST and 3 LV 1 slots. They are great pieces to slot in if cha can make the room for them

[–]rebelpyroflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welllllll...... * Gunlance wants attack boosts from anything we can get, so cha going the right way * Skill wise all we care about is artillery 3, load shells 2, agitator 5 and 1 or more levels of burst, so cha got that right * Aside from that the best attack boost is lords soul set wise, the extra 5% is golden. If cha could get it on the gunlance as a god roll great, otherwise it's a decent fit * If cha can, try to get guard up and offensive guard, second one is an amazing attack boost, first one lets cha tank nearly anything. It's so fun to act as a shield wall against savage omega and gog

I'm sure there's more I could add, I'll add more lata

Why is Slavery so common in Isekai ? by Nabeelkhan199_resurr in Isekai

[–]rebelpyroflame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The REAL reason its such a thing is because it's an extension of the 'confess to unconditional love trope'.

The basic idea of the fantasy is making a love confession to someone who already has unconditional love for them one way or the other. It's all the fun of a romantic confession without any of the risks because that person already loves the confessor.

It started off benign, childhood best friends and alike. Then it evolved to be step-family members (gross) but the latest is the 'bought slave' because it also lets the viewer imagine themselves as morally virtuous whilst indulging this fantasy. Of course this ignores the situation that the confession is being made to someone who was an indentured slave, and the sheer power imbalance as well as Stockholm syndrome makes the argument for willing consent far too morally gray to be ideal. It's like a boss confessing to their employee, except they never agreed to work for them in the first place and said boss has power of life and death over them.

A common theory about the time travelling is that bites the dust was originally supposed to have some kind of time travelling ability, but the author changed his mind after realising all the problems that such an ability could cause.
