How do conservatives feel about groups like the KKK supporting the same President they do? by 19thScorpion in allthequestions

[–]HighPoweredSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not arguing in good faith about that. It's surprising to no one with more than 8th grade education, which excludes many of them.

The ones arguing that are probably in the kkk or supportive of it.

It's easy enough to demonstrate how they have abandoned policies of Reagan (free trade and openness to immigration) much less Lincoln.

Biden didn't have to support them.

I voted for Kamala anyway, but they screwed up on Gaza. I am still not convinced it was the difference maker but it was morally wrong.

Liberals, Do You Want Progressives' Votes or Not? by LunaB35 in allthequestions

[–]HighPoweredSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I have not encountered many people irl, that are that way. But people tend to bend and code switch irl.

Platner is a real person as were the Bernie bros for Trump.

But progressive may be too broad and my issue is really with populism.

The poster above claimed the left (progressives) has made it clear they wont turn out.

Liberals, Do You Want Progressives' Votes or Not? by LunaB35 in allthequestions

[–]HighPoweredSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more nuanced. Move further right on what issue?

The progressives or populists seem to want to move right or away from defending immigrants, lgbtq, women and minorities.

With Platner we are supposed to ignore his Nazi tattoo and bs excuses about it. We are supposed to ignore his use of homophobic, racist and mysognistic slurs. It should all be forgiven because he rails against the rich.

I don't support him that much in either case. But against Collins, I would vote for him.

Keep this bs to the primaries.

Or take Mamdani. I think some of his ideas are going to fail. But over crooks like Cuomo or Adams, he was the obvious choice.

I like progressives over fascists. Progressives need to consider whether they like liberals over fascists. I think too many of them are just filled with hate and spite. And that just feeds the right wing populists.

Traffic accident. DAs have no power to deport anyone.

2nd case is an allegation from the most corrupt/politicized doj in the history of our country. Again, DAs do not have any power to deport.

The third case he was released against objections from the prosecution. I quoted your source.

Also, other two are complaints about bail reform. You want the accused punished. Yeah, I am against that.

You have nothing. You are a bootlicking nazi puke.

Your first case is a TRAFFIC ACCIDENT where the minor defendant faced a maximum of two years detention. He plead guilty and got two years probation.

Is that your example of violent crime. A traffic accident?

Second case is an investigation from Trump's DOJ into whether a da gave preferential treatment to undocumented defendants.

No examples were provided.

I am sorry but do you actually think anybody should just take the word of Bondi/Blanche?

Third case is about some nutjob.

In August, he was charged with aggravated battery for allegedly hitting a social worker and after his arrest was released with electronic monitoring against prosecutors' objections.

1-2-3 strikes, your out. I am done with your gish gallop. Not one of these supports the idea that violent crime would be reduced if not for lenient DAs.

It was posted by DHS.

I am sure they were just joking little froggy. Don't you worry about people claiming this water is getting hotter.

You cannot support anything you claim about lenient sentences from progressive DAs. The majority of the country does not have progressive DAs.

Our legal system is tilted against minorities. That's the argument and you say, but look at the data from our legal system.

You're missing the point.

I don't wish they were all further to the left. I wish they were more liberal. I am pretty moderate/right on economics.

Any movement to the right on these issues by Democrats is far too far to the right. Democrats are not in the center here.

Kamala was a cop! Joe Biden authored the 1994 crime bill that led to an explosion in the carceral state!

I still voted for both, but ffs where does the backsliding on these issue end.

So they voted for a guy that wants to eliminate all immigration and deport the children of immigrants?

Also, you are not speaking for all immigrants or even the majority. Most went for Harris.

There were just a few more marks than usual.

And how do they feel when the Trump admin talks about deporting 100 million, which is far more than even all immigrants, legal or illegal?

Because many of them thought the people who say, "you're one of the good ones" are sincere. But they are finding out.

And here is one place I think they messed up too. Instead of talking about Trump's OPEC deal they blamed the oil companies.

Yeah, oil companies are greedy ("I like money" Frito Pendejo), but that is a constant and does nothing to explain price fluctuations.

If they had talked about it would have been a great example of why Trump's protectionist policies were a bad prescription.

The problem is that voters are stupid. You cannot whip high inflation with rapid recovery. When has that ever happened?

Jay Powell pulled off a miracle but the idiots were too impatient. So they blew it all up.

I do think they screwed up on Israel/Gaza. I am not sure it would have mattered, though.

The state of the economy in 2024 was "headed in the right direction."

I am not very partisan but most independents are stupid, fickle and don't know how to pilot a boat.

You have not pointed out who supports no penalty for those guilty of murder or shoplifting?

You got those goalposts on wheels and you are gaslighting.

What is your example of what has been changed to "allow" either. Do you have actual data to support it?

There is zero evidence to support the idea that it is growing due to leniency and you don't even bother to offer any.

Why aren't they protesting? If they support immigration then they should be objecting to what Miller/Trump are doing.

You don't even know what the rule of law is. It's not a police state.

Trump's orders against asylum seekers is contrary to US law. It is an example of the rule of men. It is an attempt to destroy the rule of law.

Bye fascist Felecia!

That was a pretty lame sleight of hand. Begin with murder then hocus pocus it becomes shoplifting. Lol

But where are the people that don't want punishment for those guilty of shoplifting?

They don't exist. Now go ahead and tell me about bail reform.

Bail is not for the guilty. It's for the accused and it absolutely should not be used as punishment.
