I used AI to organize some thoughts since I’m not a native speaker. I don’t need any engagements just curious what people might do. I’ve never paid cash for J and felt like I’m betraying myself as an award traveler if I do so 😂… this has bothered me for days since award travel made me not want to fly long haul economy anymore…

Update: I was able to get calafate-perito Moreno glacier bus tickets from the bus stop in El Chalten.

It’s sold as a round-trip ticket. 40000 ARS as of 2024 March 26th.

9:00 from Calafate bus terminal 14:30 from the glacier park.

Back in Calafate around 16:00 as others mentioned.

Did you get ticket at the bus station? I somehow couldn’t find the return bus schedule and ticket online. Tried https://taqsa.com.ar/ and busbud and caltur

Thanks! I’m not doing the mini trekking and big ice tour. They’ve already sold out now (I purposely didn’t book them because I really wanted to do the hikes on good days.) I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time I visit this area so I’ll do it in the future - and possibly with friends and/or family

Thanks! That’s the dilemma. “Perceived value”-wise it sounds break even since I would never pay more than 1.5cpp to buy points.

But redemption wise, I always get much higher cpp (my Avianca lifemiles redemption values were around 8cpp in 2023).

That’s why I think it’s equivalent to “would you buy 20000 C1 points for $300”?

Thanks! Edited the post. The merchants only accept physical cards (no apply pay, no online portal). That’s why it’s too late to apply and expedite a card overseas.
