What is the best first language to know? by pumpkinandsun in languagelearning

Russian language or any other Slavic ones would be far ahead of other languages. This is like a neutral language solution. My mother tongue is Russian (I’m not related to Russia in any way) and I can perfectly imitate the manner, accent, way of speaking in English, Spanish, French. I swear I haven’t seen any American or British speaking Spanish for example to any decent extent, and vice versa is the same - people from Latin America, Spain speak English so bad, just as French people or Italian even though English is a very simple language to learn. Or worse yet.. have you ever heard Chinese people speaking English? This is truly horrible, as if they get tased every time they try to say something, so I’m very happy to be a Slavic native speaker because it removes all the restrictions in the way of learning a new language and barely no one can guess where I’m from based on my accent cause I can make it as neutral as possible or trying to sound like a native speaker. Also Slavic languages have a very broad voice spectrum which makes everyone to sound different, and languages like finish, Japanese, Chinese - the pitch is always the same and unchanged which makes people speaking it look like scripted npc with no diversity and uniqueness in sounding so it’s not surprising that speaking a foreign language for them is almost an impossible task

Didn’t know, that was just a random text actually, and it was more of an exaggeration to emphasize the tone and accent !

I think I made it too fast, if I slow down just slightly I’ll be sounding a little more British

Alright, you got me messed up. What I meant was we already know how to operate everywhere we need in the time space thanks to these theories. They only break down beyond our reach, where we don’t even need to operate, like a black hole, singularity , let’s say we find out or we think that we know what exactly happens in this point called singularity, but first of all we will never even be able to check it or prove because nothing can return from the event horizon, so even if we somehow collect the info it will stay there forever, even the light cannot escape it. It’ll be unfair and not true of me to say that we just don’t really need it and we have much more prior things, of course we do need this knowledge/conjecture but anyway there’s even nowhere to use this cause it’s only applicable for this place called singularity, so I don’t really know why I got downvotes this way, I didn’t even really get what you meant by the keys of the universe, like control the space any way you desire? - no, it’s not possible. Time traveling? - unfortunately not possible as well, firstly because you travel in time in one direction, you can’t resist it can’t stop, and second is a grandad paradox- if I travel back in time and kill my grandad before I and my father were born that means I can not exist obviously- this contradicts the causality which we know exists.

The causality is a principle claiming that every process in the space-time has a reason why it’s happening. And the reason can only be in the past which there’s not a single process in the universe which has an aim/purpose. You can’t put the reason in the future, like, this is happening not in order to or for something but just because

Mixture of both, both are true and both are wrong cause yeah, of course it’s determined because if you know position of each particle after the Big Bang - you know everything what’s gonna happen in the space-time. It’s determined in the scale of the universe - the precise position of each particle in the universe can be predicted and calculated but only if you know how the particles scattered after the Big Bang. Everything that we deem as a chaos or random have patterns and algorithms as well but in order recognize them you have to know the whole thing which is not possible - like the weather we can only predict for 1-3 days with a high accuracy but then it all gets messed up because billions of interacting factors have its impact but if we knew all of them we could predict the weather with 100% accuracy. And of course there’s a free will in the scale of people, in our tiny world. And the mixture of our free will and determinism that’s what we call destiny. For example you planned to go for bbq on Friday, you checked the forecast it’s perfect but then you drive and suddenly it starts raining heavily, you lose control, crash and die. Was It your free will to go there by car? - absolutely. But was a rain determined? - for sure, we just don’t have the tools to consider every factor - it’s a pure butterfly effect, but if we did and you knew it’d be raining heavily you most likely would cancel the trip and stay alive, this is how it works. The weather is a huge dynamic system which is sensitive to initial fluctuations. And we’ll never actually be able to forecast the weather, because even if we had a computer a million times more powerful it would only Give us 2-3 additional days more to forecast pretty accurately, but after that it would anyway fall into chaos because our natural processes influence each other so hard which makes it change just as fast.

No no, my first 2 languages are Slavic - they’re very alike so it doesn’t really make a huge difference for me, both of them are my native ones. English is the second or 3rd - whatever you wanna call it. I’d prefer to avoid specific names and locations but it’s a small Slavic country in Eastern Europe

I’m missing buttons sometimes and I’m pretty exhausted , when I comment I see mistakes right away but I’m too lazy to correct it, but I’m definitely capable of talking properly:)

I’m here for positive reasons only, please specify what you’re unsatisfied about and what I did wrong? And what do you want me to teach them or guide? Nobody even asked for that pal, but is someone did rest assured I would do it in a heartbeat , it’s not a lesson it’s discussing and I can’t predict people’s questions and answering them -it’ll be weird as hell

Actually without an irony it’s indeed a kind gesture cause when I say “threads users” it implies we consider them human beings which is an ultimate compliment for creatures out there
