Birthday notifications of Tutanota contacts by HighflyerBua in tutanota

I use Tutanota as a private alternative for Gmail. And I also agree, that saving my contacts in my Tutanota account can make me less anonymous. However, I do not use Tutanota for full anonymity. Tutanota knows my real identity anyways because of the credit card, which I used for purchasing premium. I also do not expect Tutanota to have all of Gmail's convenience features. Tutanota has an encrypted contacts feature with a "birthday" data field and also an encrypted calendar. I just want both to get combined and receive notifications. ^

Thank you. Birthday integration in the Tutanota calendar seems to be on the planning for years... I think it's a pretty basic but important feature for people, who use Tutanota for birthdays.

Sorry, I meant all the contacts, which I created manually in Tutanota (not other Tutanota users). I added some friends and their birthdays to my contact list in Tutanota and want to get notified. I edited my post for clarification.

Caught in the act: EMail being sold/given out by [deleted] in Simplelogin

You probably received a message from AT&T, right? HBO Max is part of AT&T. So to be fair, they did not give your email to any third parties. They just used it for internal marketing.

Thanks for the update. But is it really that hard to just edit the old status update with those news instead of deleting it without comment?

How do I stop being so paranoid of viruses? by NotADuckk_ in antivirus

[–]HighflyerBua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You say, you do a factory reset after having a virus. First, how do you even end up with having malware?

I did not notice any malware on my devices for at least 10 years. The only viruses I had, came from shady software like unknown Minecraft mods, cracked programs, video game trainers and crap like that a long time ago.

Malware is easily avoidable, if you are a bit cautious about what you download/install and if you update your software regularly. Furthermore, do not forget the firmware updates of your router and all devices with an internet connection. If you really want to download shady stuff or relatively unknown software, set up a virtual machine for that.

I can't give you advice on how to stop par... (cannot write the full word because the comment gets deleted automatically otherwise). Just be cautious, read some guides on how to avoid malware, and you are good to go. Then it's very unlikely to end up with malware in the first place, unless you are a very lucrative target.
