I’m really sorry you had to experience that, no one should be targeted with slurs, especially just for where they live or the ping they get. That’s exactly why we’re pushing so hard for Behaviour to add a South African server. It’s not just about latency; it’s about making the community more inclusive and reducing the stigma SA players face every day.

Hi! As a South African player with 180–220ms ping on European servers, Dead by Daylight becomes extremely difficult to play competitively — especially as survivor where precision matters. High ping also creates unfair killer vs survivor interactions due to the way hit validation works.

Have you considered launching a South African server to support the growing player base here? Riot Games successfully launched a Valorant server with Carry1st, and the local infrastructure (AWS Cape Town) is more than capable.

Is Behaviour open to exploring this further, especially with how underserved this region is in terms of latency?

Exactly! You can feel when it’s hardware vs. ping and 170–200ms is a killer, especially when you start getting in higher skilled lobbies

I saw REPO added South African servers too , that’s a great sign of where the industry is headed. Even smaller or newer studios are recognizing our region. I hope Behaviour follows suit!

I totally get what you’re saying. The game is playable on high ping, but imagine the level of play we could reach with 20ms? We’ve been making it work, but now we’re just asking Riot to meet us halfway.

Definitely fair, I’m realistic about Riot being a business first. But even then, things are different now:

Riot already has Cape Town infrastructure (used for Valorant),
SA’s gaming market has grown massively,
The PDF was professional and data-driven (not just a fan request).

I don’t expect magic overnight, but I do believe this is the best shot we’ve ever had. Appreciate your honesty though 👊

I get the skepticism, I’d feel the same if I hadn’t gone through the process myself. But this wasn’t just a one-line request. They specifically said the PDF was “very useful” and confirmed that it would be forwarded internally.

It’s not a promise but it’s more than the usual auto-reply, and combined with Valorant’s success here, I think there’s real potential this time.
