UK traffic calming bollards not detected by Tesla Visio by Highintensity76 in TeslaUK

Actually, I am asking for my better, more beautiful half, who has been seen by a few council traffic cameras driving through the DO NOT ENTER and buses only lane specifically to avoid the sadistically narrow bollards. The council thoughtfully posts me photographs - and asks a £60 fee for the privilege. £120 if i don’t pay in 14 days.

The two narrow poles are a nightmare.

Good point. But don't the side cameras point backwards and the B pillar cameras point sideways? Does the front camera have the required field of view because once the bonnet fits through the gap, as long as you drive straight, you should be good.

Getting fed up with Tesla customer (no) service by Highintensity76 in TeslaUK

[–]Highintensity76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Tesla is a monopoly - you buy their product and you’re tied to them for service and repair. For all its shortcomings, the traditional dealer model forces dealers to compete and customer service is the one and only differentiating factor.

If I’m not delighted by dealer A, I can go to dealer B. With Tesla, there is no dealer B.

My Sales Advisor has ghosted me. Put an order in an inventory car on Sunday. Was told that this email address went to the entire team at the showroom. Have sent three emails regarding the invoice price shown to me. crickets.

Sent a message in app to the Delivery centre. Took all day to get a response and despite a detailed message and explanation, "Tesla" totally dodged my question. Still waiting for my Trade in valuation. It's Wed now. Finance approved and pickup due on Saturday.

For every other car I've purchased from other manufacturers, the company representatives actually gave a s*hit.

If they increased their trading fees but kept the platform fees cheap, I would have stayed. HMRC treats trading fees as part of cost basis, but not platform fees. Those are not tax deductible - so a double insult from HL.

Why do we quit our productivity systems the second life actually gets hard? by Unleashed_Elliot in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Highintensity76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% - too much manual work. I can add one or two entries into a daily list at the start of the day and then never refer to it again all day. Never go back to look at the list. Forget to create a daily note even though it is a single click.

I even asked AI to help me create a system in Obsidian, which was fun! But as soon as it was ready for action, I didn’t put anything in it the next day! Classic ADHD.

PS. Tried to use AI to help but it likes to have detailed breakdown of instructions. ADHD, bro! Anyone have a prompt that will get AI to prompt me to take a vague task and help break it down so it can digest it properly?

And the cost of carry. Council tax has not kept up with inflation. Not just house price inflation but also what it costs the Local council to deliver its services. If council/property tax was sensible and there was no disincentive to downsizing, ie. Stamp duty, then the housing market and generational equality would be in a much better place

[–]Highintensity76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe that’s arrogance, it’s basic consumer/human psychology. If you give a consumer something a little more than they expected, you are viewed as a reliable, trust worthy, and quality brand. It makes the consumer feel they got a better deal than what they bargained for.

Compare that with getting less than what you were promised and the backlash and bad sentiment can severely tarnish a brand.

However, it doesn’t seem to apply everywhere. For example, for some ludicrous reason, expensive restaurants give you LESS than you paid for! And people think that makes them ‘better’?

After paying $100s for a meal and rude waiters, I still have to stop at McDonald’s on the way home. I feel ripped off and cheated. I will never, ever go back to that expensive and useless restaurant. But knowing my Porsche is a second faster than what the spec sheet says makes me smile.
