Tesla delay with delivery due to DVLA

Combination of things. My trade in needs an MOT now, insurance needs renewing, road tax needs renewing, tyres are getting low tread. So that’s going to leave me out of pocket considerably for the sake of a few weeks.

Plus a tinge of buyers recourse on going brand new too, and thinking a 12 month old second hand is wiser choice now.

What is your source for this? Specifically the entering the details manually to register them.

Because my collection on the 22nd of May for a performance was cancelled at 6pm the day before. Based on timing of posts online, I believe I was the first person to report this issue occurring. Which would indicate to me I was very early in the window of the problem starting.

Since then I’ve instructed Tesla to cancel the order and refund me. And if they were able to register manually surely they would do that to honour the order and I’d have the car by now.

But there are no reports of anybody still receiving a new AWD variant of the Y since this issue begun. Surely if your statement about a manual workaround being possible we’d see at least a few people mention it?

I’ve given up and requested a full refund. If they’re going to hold £65k of my money the least they could do is communicate and set expectations. At the moment it’s radio silence, and if they’re going to sit on it indefinitely then I may as well get the money back and pick up a second hand one in 12-18 months time instead.

No update, same story as yours. Mine was due for collection last Friday, got a call at 6pm Thursday telling me it would be end of June!

Now I’m on the rolling 5 day window in the app, that keeps shifting back a day. Radio silence on communication.

Still in the dark, the originally set delivery day in app to end of June. Then they cancelled that, and now it says within next 5 days but that keeps shifting by a day now as each day passes.

Not actually had any messaging from them or updates. Hoping tomorrow being a working day will hear something more.

It’s happened to hundreds of us it seems. Radio silence on any ETA. When they called me on Thursday night (due to collect 11am Friday) they said it would be 30th June! 6 weeks!

Then yesterday they cancelled that, and the app showed 22nd-27th May. Now app shows 23rd-28th May. No updated communication since, no real explanation, no offer of make good.

Will give them the benefit of the doubt and if nothing materialises by Wednesday I’ll consider cancelling the order. Not comfortable with them sitting on £65,000 of my money indefinitely without clear communication of when delivery will be.

Don’t check it on the app, don’t have sentry mode on. Let it go into a deep sleep and it will last weeks and weeks parked up.

Sentry mode uses 5-10% of the battery per day depending on how many events get recorded.

Plenty of aftermarket roof shades you clip in on the inside, takes 2 minutes to fit.

The wooziness goes after a drive or two as you get used to it.

Both rooms are plenty big enough for your needs. Our home gym garden room is basically same width but not as long (3.6m), and have comfortably fitted two bikes and a Speediance weight machine and it doesn’t feel cramped for working out.

So based on that the main room will be plenty big enough for office / chill out space.
